My best time on that track is in an [R] NSX. I am less than a second behind until a little more than halfway through then something happens and I end up with what I have. I actually got that exact same time twice. Wierd.

But it just seems like if I could get one perfect lap I could break :57. But I can't, yet.

But I must say this is an enjoyable run and I'll miss it.

Same here. But I kept fudging the 1st turn after the 1st chicane (I guess you could call it the third turn, 2nd right). Taking it too wide and loosing time that way. At my best I'd be redlining 5th gear through that turn. At my worst I had to downshift to keep from hitting the wall

Another make or break part for me was the 2nd to last right at the top of the hill. You have to go airborn at just the right spot to hit the track in enough time to avoid the wall or slowing down.

I've found that when taking the hill turn to try to turn later then you think you should. The turn just plays out differently and you end lined up a lot better...

Aaaaaactually...The more I think about it...if either you or Fuji break my time...I'll kill you...Oh yeah...That's right...I worked my ass off for that time... :D

BTW, is the R390 the Race car or the purple one? I have the black and red Race version R390 with the big fog lights up front...

57.234 @ 160.75mph

sorry alittle late due to internet access.....Arcade broke and so i had to go buy a new GT2 at K-Mart...(about 10pm at night) then my sister was asleep so i didn't get a chance to come online after runs....

Go for it Fuji. I'll post results tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.

This week's race will be XJR15 on Midfield.

Participation seems to be dwindling. Too bad.

I'd like some suggestions for future races. Anyone?
We could move it onto the FRI Spot Race....All cars bought from either USED or NEW and tuned up to limits/restrictions and race for fastest times.....

It's on the FRI site. Access at the bottom of my sig..

BTW, yes i just bought a new GT2! Now i can buy cars again!

After a week I changed the transmission settings and got almost a full second faster no problem. With more time I could've done even better. I thought I had the tranny "optimized." *pfft*

I'll post results later.

i average in the 58's due to that one turn....but if i get it right everytime, i will average in the 57's. I want to get in the 56 but man that's working the tires limits! hehe*

How long have you been playing gt2? Also how long have you been doing OLRs? My GT career, first with gt2 then moving to 3, only started in June...I'm not some incredible driver but for my first race the time isn't too bad, I don't think...

I've been playing GT2 for like a 2 years now....i apply real life tuning to GT2.

The site i read it from is www.turnfast.com and other various sites. I'm at the car forums:
www.nasioc.com
www.i-club.com
www.rs25.com

All of these are Subaru car forums. So if you thought right, Subarus are good for cornering and rallying. So i focused on my suspension a lot, which is why i have the best suspension spec on my Subaru Impreza WRX STi Ver VI in GT2 right now FOR ME.

If you want to try the specs out on my WRX for GT2, feel free. Then give me a review on it like how car mags does it. That's if you want.....

I've only started the OLR thing a year ago... Now i have one too! FuJi Racing International. site in my sig.

BTW, you're not too bad your self. It takes a while to get used to the cars limits, and when you know where they are, you'll be doing faster lap times!

I really enjoyed this race...although the lack of tuning got on my nerves a little...The car had great suspension but on the longer sweeping turns like the turn before the straight and the turn after the first chicane, some understeer was apparent...That's why I am looking forward to the Jag/Midfield race, you can tune it! *yay*...I'm already practicing =) I'll beat you one day Fuji *Cliche thunder*

Sorry for a lack of a reply...59.328 with the R390.

A little gear tuning » 58.881

Ten minutes later » 58.272

Twenty after the last one » 57.955

Eighty-three laps later: no change...I officially give in.

R390 Road Car '97 (won at GTAS Laguna) at Tahiti, no hp upgrades, everything else fair game. Results so far:

FujiK: 57.234
Pupik: 57.955
MidasGT: 57.997
The_Masaru05: 58.002
Kurtis: 58.687
milefile: 58.799

First thing to note, this engine is designed to accept a lot more power, so stock, the peak hp comes well before the redline, and so it will be much more effective in the hands of a competent MT driver. I had to set the gears to only use 5 out of the 6 available in order to get the RPM's to drop low enough on shift up to catch the peak power, and still have to suffer through the sharp drop in power in the last 1000rpms before the AT shifts up again.

59.166 on lap 15 I thought was pretty good for this setup, and I can see myself getting down to the mid 58's, but I'm 100% positive you need to drive MT and use all six gears tightly around the peak power to get into the low 57's.

Edit: oops, I did this with the R390 Road Car '98 instead of the '97, I'll have to try again since the '98 sits at 2.92 kg/hp and the '97 is a little less powerful but much lighter and so achieves a 10% better weight to power ratio of 2.62 kg/hp.

Edit: 58.609 with the '97 R390 Road Car on like lap 12... again could do better, maybe down to 58 given 50 laps with breaks.
