Never hugely into Bowie. I only knew a tiny bit of his work but there's no denying the huge influence he was to so many people across his career. He'll be greatly missed. RIP.

I shall be watching "The Prestige" as my own tribute. If you've not seen it, then you must.

David Bowie as Andy Warhol.

Just got his new album on Saturday (it's excellent). Sad he died so young. Rest in piece David Bowie, and thank you for all the joy your music has bought the world.

I find it incredible to feel such loss when I never knew him or met him - it's a tragedy when he should have been able to create so much more.

His new album is great, just as I expected. The track "Lazarus"... well, it's difficult to listen to once you know what he knew when he was building the album.

RIP.

I've never been a huge fan, but this nearly had me in tears.

RIP David Bowie

On a side-note I hear that people are gathering in Hull at the Mick Ronson Stage. It's one of the most awful "tributes" to a rock legend ever, built in an old dock and mostly frequented by tramps. Only here could something be so bad. I might wander over there later tonight and see what's what, perhaps for once there'll be some je ne sais quoi about the place.

Would Mick want the fuss of something better? He's always come across as a no-nonsense sort of bloke.

Another interesting little piece of info has come to light in his varied and creative career, it turns out he wrote the musical score and was a character in a little known late 90's Dreamcast game called Omikron : The Nomad Soul.

Quantic Dream posted this tweet in memory.

Somewhere last night I was watching Craig Ferguson from the late late show, and someone mentioned his name and how the pronounced it...

And then I see this thread, sigh..

I was listening to Young Americans on vinyl and looking at the sleeve when I found out something rather fascinating (no pun intended). While I knew Luther Vandross co-wrote Fascination, I didn't know he was a backing vocalist on the album at the tender age of 24.
