I probably would buy DLC on the first day of release if it's good enough - unlikely to happen though..

Like many already said, it's a bit of a rip-off seeing that these cars are already prepared on release, so why didn't they include them then? It's not only PD doing this but i hear T10 also.

If the DLC was produced after the game's release no problem, but this stinks a little.

No. If they do this I won't purchase any more GT6 DLC, because it's obviously content withheld from us.

With all the patches that PD is gonna have to do to gt6 like the Patch for the Sounds  i don't see there been DLC any time soon after gt6 come outs

I think it's impossible for PD to release DLC at day 1, specially since they are still working on stuff that they want to make sure to be available at day 1. So a day 1 patch is almost guarantee, but I doubt we will get all the planned content before January/February, if not later, and only then will we start to see DLC for GT6.

At least that was how they did in GT5 and I'm not seeing them changing politics as long as Kazunori-san is in charge of things..

How do you know it isn't something they are working on right up until the last minute and it's not ready in time to make it on the disc? Point is you don't know so why fret about it? If it's worth the pittance they charge for DLC buy it, if you don't like it don't buy it.

A day one patch is guaranteed, it was announced a while ago.

Well that's the romantic explanation, but to me it looks like you selling 90% of the game at full price and charge extra for the other 10% at the same moment.

You missed my point entirely. It was a question, not a statement. There is no way to know if it's being worked on up until the last minute or if it's a blatant ripoff. If you don't know and you'll never know, why fret over it? If you find out DLC was in the can months ago and saved so Sony/PD could "ripoff" customers then sing it from the high heavens.

Whether it's ready on disc or not, I don't believe they should charge us for it, if it's a day ONE thing. I personally don't think it's any different than a day one patch. When you buy something, it should include everything that's ready by the time you buy it, even if that means you have to download it.

It would have to be at least a week for it to be the slightest bit reasonable, imo.

If I think of DLC prices compared to other forms of entertainment like tickets to football matches or the cinema, even the most expensive DLC seems reasonable. I'm almost guaranteed to spend at least an hour and a half with each modifiable car.

You're a multi million dollar company who will likely make tens of millions of profit from your game, so holding back content to rip of your faithful fans is an idea I can not support.

Massive shame Codies and T10 do it, disgusting I feel.

Not a PD insider sadly, but these practices are suspicious to say the least, and nowadays more and more developers do it that way.

Given what we know about huge corporations, if there's DLC on day one then I'd assume the worst, the worst being that we're getting ripped off.

I would hope that PD is smart enough that at least for the first month or so all DLC they post is (always) available for free, then start charging for anything new after that.

Who will buy DLC if it's available 6th? Me, unless it's full of lifeless cars.

What if it was the GRC (Global Rally Cross) pack, with tracks and cars?

They would probably wait a while, there would be enough stuff in GT6 to get most of us happy for a month.

I won't be getting the "day one dlc" on day one, but I will be getting it when I get the game for christmas.

Day One update: Like others have mentioned, I wish the game would be shipped with a good base for when the reviews are done, but not a major issue. I am glad that Kaz & PD had stated that there is a good, honest chance it is almost, or is guaranteed to happen.

Day One DLC: I would be disappointed if PD does Day One DLC. Even though making profit is a priority, I feel PD's way of thinking is not the same as other developers in the genre, and is not the central focus. If PD was to do it, I would feel PD would be pressured into it by Sony, not PD wanting to do it.

I would not buy the Day One DLC right away, but I would buy it eventually if it was something that interests me (Seattle, Interlagos, SSR11, Pikes Peak).
