Rules and Regulations
SPA DLC REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE AT THE SPA RACE
Classes This will be a three class race. LMP, LMGT1, and LMGT2). There will be 6 spots for LMP1, 4 spots for LMP2, and 6 spots for LMGTE.
Race length. This is an Endurance championship, so races will range from 90 minutes at minimum to 4 hours at the maximum.
Room will open 1 hour before scheduled race start to get qualifying under way, which will start 1 hour after the room is open. Typically, the room will open 4 PM Eastern Daylight Time, and I (W1NNER101) will be hosting the room. If this room is full, I don't have an alternate host
Qualifying will be done individually. I will put penalties on weak, and set the race to three laps. You will do a warmup lap and then two hot laps. The better of the two laps will be accepted. Depending on the size of the track, there may be only one lap. A qualifying knockout round may be needed depending on how many participants show.
Tire Regulations Tire option is completely wide open. If you want to use Softs, Mediums, Hard, or a combination, do it. There will be dynamic weather, so if Racing: Intermediates or Racing: Rain tires are needed, please use them.
The Main Race
Every single race will have 1 full length pace lap, including Circuit de la Sarthe and Circuit de Spa.
The pace lap will go in the order you have qualified in, and the pace speed is determined by the slowest turn on the circuit +10mph (Example: Slowest turn at Gandy Valley is ~55mph. Add 10mph and that is the pace speed [65mph.])
The pace lap will go single file until I say to double up.
The green flag is shown when the leader crosses the S/F line at all track. There will be no passing between classes or passing between rows until you have passed the Start & Finish line unless someone is napping at the start.
Passing rules
These races will be 2-4 hours in length, so there will be plenty of overtaking opportunities. Don't just rush up to the front on Lap 1. Be patient, don't divebomb. I do understand that there are mistakes, but if one is made, please give the position back.
Lower class cars will be expected to get out of the way of upper class cars as soon as possible. This usually means "The next straightaway." I'm not asking you to wreck your car so LMP gets the glory, but also, please be courteous to the upper classes and let them by at the soonest point possible. WARNING TO UPPER CLASS DRIVERS: Intentionally taking out lower class cars will result in a penalty. Please be patient.
Points system
Our points system rewards consistency over winning, so if your on the podium every race, it's better than winning one race, and being off of the podium for the next.
1st: 10
2nd: 8
3rd: 7
4th: 5
5th: 3
6th: 1
Penalties
If life was fair, these wouldn't have to be enforced. However, there are rules to the road, and they must be followed.
Bump drafting
I can understand bump drafting if you guys are teammates in the same class, as long as you guys don't wreck each other, there are no penalties assessed. However, if an LMP is caught bump drafting and LMGT1 or an LMGT1 is caught bump drafting an LMGT2, it is an automatic 15 second penalty for the upper class driver and a 5 second penalty for the lower class driver.
Intentional wrecking
All intentional wrecking is strictly forbidden, and will result anywhere from a 20 second post race penalty to a disqualification depending on the type of contact. If you wreck someone unintentionally, give them their position back or it will be assumed the wreck was intentional.
Corner Cutting
There will be no "curb stomping" allowed. Always keep 2 tires, and at least 2/3rd of your car over the racing surface. The penalty for shortcutting will vary depending on what kind of cut it is.
Regulation breach
All types of regulation breaches are immediate disqualification.
Team Rivalry
All types of team rivalries will result in kick, after warning, from both parties. I'm not putting up with it.
Types of cars allowed
There are 5 LMP1s, 2 LMP2s, and 5 LMGTEs to choose from.
Added Note
Anyone driving a car that can be painted will be forced to paint their car a certain way and be given a certain number if they are in the LMGTE Pro class. Also, regulations will change per circuit so everyone has a fair chance. The currently shown regulations are for Circuit de la Sarthe 2009.
Regulations
All cars have max engine upgrades and no turbo and no racing exhaust unless noted otherwise.
