Signs I have a great girlfriend: she has declared this is our plan for Valentines. No fancy dinner. No mushy cards. Just a wrinkly Reynolds.![]()
You've got yourself a keeper. May I suggest a ring?

Are you sure she didn't fall for these commercials?Oh, they are. But as this isn't a trailer, I thought I'd give ample warning!

I don't watch X-Men but people said it was Cerebro or something ?...
That's probably because the preview trailers have to be sanitised for general exhibition when the whole point of Deadpool is that he's an arsehole who happens to be a hero. I saw the redband trailer attached to The Hateful Eight and even the octogenarians who turned their noses up at the Dirty Grandpa redband trailer found it funny. The preview trailers didn't do much for me... but these last few have snagged another viewer.![]()
Wait, what's it rated? I just watched a trailer that wouldn't clear PG-13.
The only rating an appropriate Deadpool movie can have: Hard R.Wait, what's it rated? I just watched a trailer that wouldn't clear PG-13.
Comic book movies have been misses far more often than hits in my eyes--frankly, the only one I'm willing to see again is Spider-Man--so that's the key. Also, consider Ryan Reynolds has been two characters bequeathed with extra-human abilities already (that I'm aware of, and okay, so one of those was actually this one but in a different movie, but the other one was...*shudder*...The Green Lantern).appropriate Deadpool movie
In Wolverine and Green Lantern he was handed a script. His acting had little to do with the issues in those films. He has openly acknowledged that Deadpool was not done correctly. In this one he has gone so far as to put up his own money in order to become a producer and have decision making power. With 29 early reviews it currently has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.Comic book movies have been misses far more often than hits in my eyes--frankly, the only one I'm willing to see again is Spider-Man--so that's the key. That didn't come off as I'd intended, though upon reflection, I'm really not quite sure where I was really going with it. My apologies. In Wolverine and Green Lantern he was handed a script. Compare that to GL's 26% and Wolverine's 38%.
Also, consider Chris Evans in Fantastic Four and now in Captain America. The quality difference is huge. Far more is involved than a single actor.
If you break the fourth wall: yes.So, is Ryan Reynolds really Deadpool? Or is Deadpool just a comic book version of Ryan Reynolds? I can't distinguish.
Isn't that basically any well known actor? No, I mean, I can't believe Deadpool as a character. It's just Ryan Reynolds in red tights. I know I sound like a broken record about this, but it's the truth.
I seriously believe that without Reynolds we would have wound up with someone like Zac Efron or Channing Tatum.

Sure, it fits the Ryan Reynolds type casting, but who else could you see doing it? The fact that you can't separate it even adds to the fourth wall breaking effect.
