Deciding between UK PSN and Canada PSN

I've recently moved country, and have been continuing to use my UK PSN ID and it puts me in Euro lobbies etc, which is good and competitive and always full on Daily Races, but my signal drops to 2-3 bars I guess due to distance. I could just keep going like this.

I created a new PSN ID set to Canada and a few things are interesting right away on Daily Races:

1. Mostly USA opponents
2. Some Canada, Mexico and Brazil opponents
3. A few central America flags
4. Virtually no other South American opponents
5. I haven't seen a lobby have more than 12 players
6. Player numbers reduce at night, which I don't really notice in Euro lobbies

I'm going to play for the rest of my 2 week PSN trial then decide if I keep my UK PSN ID just for the full lobbies and popularity.

if you enjoy the Euro servers better I would suggest to keep using them. As for the bars, I wouldn't take those too seriously... Playstation and the games on it are not great at determining your connection speed and only use a quick ping result as a test.

I agree with Pigems, keep both if you can. Since your saying your on a trial it sounds like you'd have to pay extra to have two.

If you have to pick one it depends if you plan on racing FIA events and what your scheduled is like. The Euro FIA races will take place during the day, so if your one of us working stiffs you'd miss all Wednesday races.

Just use both accounts; I do. The Euro server is a little cleaner racing than the dodgems we have over in the America's.

My ping times to the NA server are are 50 to 65ms, and I'm 9/10 4 green bars, sometimes I drop to 3 yellow bars.

My ping times to the Euro server go from 120ms to 150ms, and are usually 3 yellow bars. I make sure when racing on Euro that I try and give as much space as possible just in case of a crappy connection. No one has ever called me out for a bad connection though.

Ping times from Canada to Europe are less than from Canada to South America. Although are you east or west coast?

Use both and let us know where the grass is greener :) It's littered with car parts over here, especially between 6 and 9.

Thanks for the input, I gave it another go tonight and the American daily races are in bad shape, 10:30PM (not an outrageous hour) and only 11 people, then during the race 5 people dropped out (attention span?).

I'll buy PS Plus again on the UK account, even if its just for GT Sport its worth it.

I'll keep the Canada account for deals and in case I get into another multiplayer game that makes sense.

How does one get a UK PSN account? If the driving is that much cleaner in the Europe server, that is appealing. Since the servers were merged in the Americas again, the Daily Races seem like destruction derbies at times.

Wait, I can't say for sure that the racing is cleaner in the Euro servers. I've had plenty of races ruined on Euro servers. BUT, the Daily Races lobbies are almost always full all the way around the clock. I can't explain why the American servers are a bit empty. I didn't realise until now that Gran Turismo is not that popular in the Americas.

Why do you have to buy PS Plus again? You can run several accounts for different countries on one PS Plus subscription.

You need PS Plus to play the Sport online races right? Pretty much all I do is play the Daily Races for entertainment and competitiveness.

I've not heard of running multiple IDs on one subscription.

This is half a year old and the ratio is probably worse now

This is more accurate for today

That was a lot of googling and dividing the estimated player count by population for all countries that have 50k or more players. Hong Kong stands out, perhaps a popular destination for psn accounts for countries that are not supported?

GTS is way more popular in Europe. It's more popular in Saudi Arabia than the USA :boggled:

Great stats  some real surprises in there. Tough to get my head around that 1 in 49 people in the UK play GTS :boggled: is that right?

1 in 95 for the UK, estimated 695,900 players in the UK with a population of 66.02 million.
Hong Kong likely hosts many psn accounts for unsupported countries hence the 1 in 49.

The stats on KP are also estimates based on a sample and simply counts created profiles. All alt accounts included and people that only started the game once.

@MDJCM me and my brother share same PSN account, on his console, account is primary and he has his own account that he plays on, this way, PS+ and all games are available on his PS4, and we both can play online and together at same time. This is something that Sony is aware and did on purpose but they don't talk about it...

Yeah I'm glad to have been told about it, I can easily now keep playing GTS on UK account and then not worry about future online gaming on other games with Canada account
