This was only speculation from PD themselves as far as I can tell. A 2008 release date was never announced. I do get what you mean but nope, that can't be used to justify saying it was delayed again.

I (and many others) would like for people to stop skewing the truth. In order for Gran Turismo to be delayed AGAIN, it would have had to havre been delayed once already (which it has NOT). Since there as been nothing but rumored release dates until the first (and ONLY) official announcement about GT5 JPN coming out in March there has been ONE delay. The one that was announced by SONY only a few days ago. So please, anyone who is here, regardless of what you read, or what any gaming website says, GT5 is delayed, but it has not been delayed AGAIN. So please for all of our sanity, STOP THIS INSANITY.
Amen.

Having been on Gtplanet for a while, I am always amazed by the amount of people who believe in internet gaming sites, speculations, rumors religiously. After all, all these crap on the internet just want hits, that's all.

I am guessing PD never really knew when to release GT5 until 2009, so there were no official words at all. However with all the hype coming up recently, I bet it's getting worldwide release around summer.

But you are taking this one instance as fact, when he has said it the other way numerous times before.
What did I say was fact?! All I said is exactly what was said in the article. No assumptions, no speculation, and no skewing happened on my part. Thanks for not noticing.

Thats why the 2 biggest news papers in the US giving a video game the time of day is a big deal.

Why is it a big deal if it's the exact same news we've seen a few days ago? We could care less about regular news papers, gaming related sources are often much more valuable for this sort of news.

Because "gaming related sources" are for people like you, and me, but major news papers are seen by the world.

Obviously you guys don't see the magnitude of the publicity Sony, and PD are getting for free, but I do. This has nothing to do with getting the information across about the delay, but rather getting the GT5 logo in as many places, in front of as many eyes as possible. "Gaming related sources" don't do that, all they do is put GT5 in front of people's eyes that already know what is going on.

We will have this game before the end of March or April at the latest. If I'm infact wrong.. I'll do a lap of the 'Ring in a Toyota Yaris.

Edit: that lap being when we get the game.

That's all very nice for "the world" but that doesn't deserve a new thread on this forum, much less one with such a misleading title, if we've already discussed all of this to death in existing threads.

That was talking about his overall vision for GT.

No it was for GT5. There is an interview somewhere where he says GT5 is only 20-25% of his vision (or something similar). The 65% was for GT5, but think, that was months ago, they still probably hadn't finished modelling most of the cars and tracks and the engine was unfinished. I bet they could have released it as it was then, but it was unfinished in their eyes.

Ditto Nattefrost

The mods should close this thread. The same news was discussed in another thread and eventually closed.

Do not worry guys.. its coming in 4 moths for sure. 90 percent complete means good sign to come close to reality

We had this debate with super mod famine yesterday. As he said there has been no delay, this thread will probably be locked.

There is no delay it's only been postponed.
How pathetic. Look up the synonyms of "postpone" The lengths some people will go to in order to say the game has not been delayed is getting ridiculous.

Here´s a tip for all you that start crying because Kaz isn´t happy with the game and wants to perfect it before he release it.

Think like this, "Well i hope this game comes out in 2010."

So if they delays it again, you wont be dissapointed..

Can't be delayed "again". This is the FIRST delay. The only announced date was Japan. THAT has been delayed. Again, old news posted on the front page here at GTPlanet days ago. Thanks for taking the time to craft a nice thread though.

👍 Exactly, once again, STOP NIT-PICKING!!!!!!!

No, I said that for the majority of people complaining about the "delay" there has been no delay - since they are European and American and we have never had a release date announced. Please do not misrepresent me just because you disagree with me - I don't take kindly to it, and nor does the AUP.

As has been pointed out, this is a delay to the Japanese release, formerly announced as March 31st and now moved back to "TBA" like the rest of the world. It was announced 2 days ago and discussed to death. We don't need a re-run.
