Delete GT5 pre installing GT6?

Make a backup of savegame for use in case of HD failure.
I backed up my entire HD on an external drive for safe keeping. Still not going to delete unless I need the space, install/delete/install results in fragmentation of HD and slower performance.

I'm going to delete the GT5 installed data before I install GT6's data.
I see no point in playing GT5, given how I feel it's a flop (even though I like to play it).

Amazing. Can you imagine that GT (including 5) is SO great as a whole, that it's considered a "flop" (and obviously you aren't the only one who claims to feel that way about GT5) when we're playing the "flop" 3 years later, daily in many cases, right up until the day the NEXT GT comes out? And you know most of us are going to play the ever-loving ***** out GT5 on the 5th to celebrate the amazing "flop" we've been enjoying for 3+ years.

Reminds me of Jimmie Johnson. "Man, he had a bad day......he only finished 4th after coming back from some adversity.....oh, and was crowned champion for the 17th time today".

GT5 must be the greatest flop of all time. Probably the 1st PS3 game in development in 2005.......doesn't release until 2010 and is still lightyears ahead of the console competition when it comes to physics and feel........it's 2013 and it STILL hasn't been surpassed in that most important area untill it's successor comes out in a couple days..........and in fact GT5's physics, feel and handling won't be surpassed for quite some time on consoles until PCARS comes out MAYBE in Fall 2014.........ostensibly a 10 year old racing simulator still not surpassed on consoles, and it's a "FLOP".......yup.....deffinitely the greatest flop of all time.

And just as a note, this comment isn't directed specifically ate the person I quoted, nor do I take it personally. I find it interestingly humorous that such a great game is considered a flop by a good number of people who have been playing the game for 3 years straight.

Very well worded Larry. :)

I will also be keeping my game data/save in tact. Heck, I only just re-installed it last Saturday...
Short story, I needed a new PS3, so I got a 500GB unit = plenty of room..:D
I could've done things the easy way and just did the link transfer, but I decided to just load GT5, all 608mb of it.
Some 18 hours later, I had a fresh game including ALL the updates, so I can play either (when I get GT6) side by side.

I'm gonna keep my GT5 save and revert back to pre 2.14 so i can be reunited with my TRD nascar powered GT-86 <3

In this country, for some people, getting a videogame isn't a top priority, even if you want it and have money to pay for it and still don't have to neglect a basic need for a few days, and that's what some of my friends have told me, so they will not buy GT6 in a near future, and I still want to play with them.

Also, I have around 90GB left in my PS3, so I will be fine, I'll just delete the GTA 2013 Demo and Dust 514, and I'll be more than comfortable

Keeping my GT5 install and game save... yes! :D

I removed GT5 almost a week or two ago, there was no need for to keep it installed. I've already saved my game data, if I do re-install I may not even use the saved data because my chrome cars all have stage three motors installed. Though I don't seeing myself running it again, maybe my daughter will but I don't that will last long once she get her hands on the wheel while running GT6.

I just couldnt do it yesterday, suddenly i started it up and thought i just go through my garage and see all the hours put of work in the virtual babies.
But today it must be done.

There's a difference between deleting the game data and your save data.

Nope, I'm keeping it on there. GT6 may not offer everything I enjoyed about GT5.

Not only did I recently delete the GT5 install, also sold the game and got enough to buy a snickers bar and a bottle of fanta. 👍

Ive only got the 40gb and have only 8gb left. should I delete the install which is 13gb and keep save file?
if I delete the save file and one day down the track I want to play gt5 do I have to install it all over again?

I have only 4gb free on my ps3, I have to choose between Assassins Creed or GT5.
I'm just worried about endurance races, we still don't know if it's present in gt6 right?

I don't know where a lot of you are coming from at all. I absolutly love gt5. Delete? Um, no.

I have a ton of fun everytime I turn the game on.
Example2;
I LOVE final fantasy 7.
I also love 8, 9, 10, 11-online, 12, 13, 13-2.
Do I still have ongoing saves that I play at least a hour or so every 3 months or so? Yup.
I'm a born and bred gamer. Every game is sacred, lol.

There will be an obvious time when I first get gt6 that NO game besides it will get my attention. But the new car smell fades and I will be happy with all my 'children' lol.
