Cause my last one made some annoying sounds, and the one I exchanged it for it making a clicking sound. Going to exchange again tomorrow and get my third wheel. Hopefully it works right...

I took my wheel and pedals apart to make 'em quieter. Before they were really plasticy-noisy-like.

I didn't exchange the clicking one yet. Might just take it apart to see what's making the noise and try to fix it.

Yea, the springs in the brake pedal cause lots of noise. I also hated when the unit powers up and the wheel turns left and right and it sounds like its going to break when its fully turned.

The DFGT does spin a lot faster than the DFP doesn't it?
It surprised me at first. I think it could dislocate a finger.
As for the other wheels, I don't know.

The only 2 DFGT's I personally know of work fine without any weird noises.

It sucks to finally get a wheel and it's not up to par.
Hope you work it out.

I had mine for a while. No problems. No clicking.

Does it really have that many problems? :ill: I don't know if I should buy the DFGT or G25 as the only sim I'll be playing is GT5P and GT5.

Mine's worked out of the box with no problems like this. It does spin quick on start up, but mine has never made me think it's anywhere near breaking by doing so. There's a bit of the motor sound depending what you do with it but honestly when the TV (or surround system) is at normal volume I couldn't care less about the negligible noise from the wheel.

I usually have bad luck with consumer electronics so maybe karma is finally cutting me a break, but there's certainly hope that you'll get a good one, good luck!

EDIT: @ TsukubaTrueno: I was in the same position as you. I got the DFGT because I chose the red real time adjustments wheel and saving $100 or so over having a clutch. Both are valid choices. Be warned though, since I've been playing Prologue with the DFGT it's gotten me much more interested in some other racing games too (it's working well with them all so far), so if you're like me you might expand into others also.

No problems here, I've had it for a year and a half and a problem has crept in which is just a slightly sticking brake pedal, but it doesn't do it very often so it doesn't really bother me. The DFGT is certainly a lot noisier than the G25, FFB and pedals, but the DFGT is still good. :)

I'm thinking one of the noises is normal, since both wheels did it. If you're going through an easy turn and just barely turning the wheel, you can hear the feedback trying to come through the wheel, but instead of getting feedback I get a weird noise. I'm going to try and fix the clicking noise in the next couple of days. It sounds like a playing card in bicycle spokes.

I know what you mean about expanding into other games. I decided to hook up my DFGT to the computer and was pleasantly surprised to see it immediately recognized, so I installed netKar Pro and took a spin (glad to find that you can use the "x" on the wheel as a clutch).

From my own sticking brake issue research I have found this is a common problem with the DFGT. There are fixes and mods about for this

Have had no problems with it so far.

The left/right calibration the first did almost dislocate my fingers hehe.

Hmm that kind of sucks, im planning on getting a DFGT this week. I got some leftover best buy gift card $$ and really been wanting a wheel for a while now. Hopefully i have better luck because most best buy stores around me are selling out...

I can't really hear the clicking sound while playing, so I may just leave it for now. Other than that, seems to be working a-ok.

Just tried mine for the first time, is the feedback supposed to feel at times like two plastic slipping gears?

Yeah mine dose the same thing with the GT wheel but not the pedals. My G25 is a quieter but I do like the controls on the wheel thou.

So i got mine about 2 hours ago. it does not seem to have any problems and is working pretty good so far 👍 is there anything in particular i should be looking for??

im pretty dissapointed tho i bought this wheel thinking it had a horn, but then i hit the horn button no honking sound??! (

Edit: i was being sarcastic although it would be cool for when me and my cousin drag race. there is no mics so we could use the horn to determine when to start.

 Nope no horn, I tried that too. The wheel is good, the pedals, not so much, oh well though. They are mostly just noisy, and so if the sequetial stick, it sometimes sounds like it cracks when I upshift. Sometimes it just clicks like it should. I'm not easy on the wheel either, I use the highest FFB for every game and fight it hard when I need to make a steering correction. It's held up just fine! Other than today with my pedals...

I do have a problem that has developed as of today.

My gas pedal is constant 80%-ish. Really weird, because the pedal won't stick, it's like the analog controller in the pedal is stuck open. Or whatever it is they use in there. Anyone have any ideas? I do play with shoes on, so maybe some dirt got inside and is jamming something up? Are the pedals easy to take a part and put back together? Should I just drop Logitech a line and make them fix it? It should be under warranty, I've only had it since like September.

Any idea? Help!

I believe I have a good one. I haven’t had the chance to compare it to any other wheel, but I don’t think that mine is louder then is should be. The only problem I have is the right d-pad button doesn’t always work the first time I hit it.

You may be describing what I was talking about earlier. Like, when you are turning the wheel and holding it steady, the wheel tries to give you feedback but instead it "slips" and makes a really awful noise.

I get that too, it sort of squeals. It's only when there is not much angle on the wheel right?

Anyone have any input on my question?

I've noticed this, but I suspect it's not a problem. If the design allows it to slip, rather than damage itself, then that's probably a good thing.

I got my DFGT a few days ago, and haven't had any problems. It's not silent, and it seems pretty violent at times (when turning on), but not enough to make me worry.

Yea this is the only thing i have noticed, but i dont get a loud noise... it actually keeps happening on the same spot on HSR Daytona Road course. i dont really mind if its keeping my wheel from damaging it self tho.

No noise, just a slipping gear feeling through the wheel. I tried rfactor and it wasn't there. Only with gt5p it seems.

It only really happens on ovals in GT5P for me, when you've got the wheel turned a very small amount and are holding it steady. I've just accepted that it's part of the design: If you turn the wheel a fraction it goes away, and obviously when you get to the straight it goes away.

You've probably not noticed it in rFactor due to not racing ovals, although I guess it could be GT5P only. I've certainly not noticed the effect in DiRT 2 with the DFGT, but you never hold steering lock in one place long enough so that's not surprising.

Needless to say, my G25 doesn't have a similar effect even when doing GT5P ovals.

I have had zero problems with my wheel and I've had it since last summer ('09). The only thing that could classify as a problem is a slight click in the brake but I naturally assumed that was normal and not defective. It's just a few mm gap between the spring and where the brake pedal sits.

I got mine during christmas, and it's fine right now. I have the same thing with the brake as kilborn, but since we both have that click, I guess it's a normal thing.
