DFGT - Anyone ever get a good one?

I believe I have a good one. However, the wheel stops responding on my PC. I've tried uninstalling the drivers without much success. While I was pondering this, I remembered that my printer also stops responding (or "hangs" whichever term you want to use) and then resumes. I ran a quick search and found out that it may be a problem with my USB ports being overtaxed. A quick fix is to get an externally powered USB hub that would serve as a buffer. It's worth a try.

R1600, sucks to hear your having such problems man. Especially since you, like I, just switched over to the wheel. Hope everything works out for ya man.

I have had zero problems with my wheel and I've had it since last summer ('09). The only thing that could classify as a problem is a slight click in the brake but I naturally assumed that was normal and not defective. It's just a few mm gap between the spring and where the brake pedal sits.

Yea i noticed my brake pedal makes the same noise, i think its just normal. I'm glad to hear i am not the only person experiencing this.
Overall i feel like i got a good wheel, everything that has stood out to me has just been part of the wheel's design.

Yea this is the only thing i have noticed, but i dont get a loud noise... it actually keeps happening on the same spot on HSR Daytona Road course. i dont really mind if its keeping my wheel from damaging it self tho.

Does it happen just as you leave the infield on to the oval section mine has a nasty judder here which is (imo) just rough track...??? anyone agree?

I've had my DFGT since Christmas and i'm really happy about it. I got it after using my mates and its awesome considering the price!!! oh and the horn also works on GTI club+ on psn....

I got my DFGT a few months ago, only just had chance to use it properly since I got a WSP from some birthday money. I haven't used any other wheels before, so I don't have a comparison base with a G25 or anything else.

I have noticed what might be that mild gear slipping, but I don't find it distracting & love the wheel to bits (much more fun than a dualshock). No problems so far...fingers crossed.

There are some bumps on the track as you enter the infield section, definitely. It's not random judder, it's exactly the same bumps every lap ;)
Similarly in GT5 TT there are a lot more of those little bumps. The only reason you're surprised by the bumps is because GT5 Prologue has far too flat track surfaces on most tracks.

A comparison is any of iRacing's laser scanned tracks. Those are utterly full of little bumps and imperfections which are easily felt. It makes the sim feel so alive because you actually feel like you are driving a car over a real surface, rather than an utterly smooth slab of fake tarmac.

I'm hoping GT5 Full will bring a lot more track surface information than we got in Prologue....
