Did GameStop make an oops?

I finally picked up GT6 the other day. Walked into GameStop to buy it. After getting into my car I pulled it out of the bag to check out the case. BAM! GT6 15th Anniversary Edition. I thought that was a pre-order edition. Did I get lucky or did GameStop make a boo boo?

I've heard this happening to other people too. They didn't pre-order the game but still got the Anniversary Edition. Guess it's not that special anymore. :(

Fairly certain it was always intended to be a first edition type thing, sort of like the special editions of Shift 2 when that came out.

Well it brought a smile to my face. Funny thing is that I did not activate the code for the SE cars until a few days after getting the title.

I was doing some seasonal events and saw a special event for the SE cars, and then remembered "oh crap.., I have these cars and haven't unlocked them yet".

I read that preorders were so low they could have ended up with more copies of the AE game than the standard.Could be for now they just have stock on AE games and when they run out it will be the standard game from then on. Thanks for the heads up. 👍👍 I have a friend who hasn't bought it yet.

I bought SR4 about a week after it was released at Gamestop and found that it was the Commander in Chief edtion, the pre-order version.

I think they do that if you buy the game there if they have one, even after it was released

Hapoened to me when I bought lego batman 2. They had too many pre orders mini figures so they gave one to anyone who bought the game.

If they have extra copies they will give you one if you ask.

I got my BF4 special edition the same way you did.
