Did You See Anything Good Today? is one of the largest threads in the Cars in General sub-forum, where expanding by several pages within a day is not uncommon. Almost every post contains something note-worthy, but occasionally there is a post containing spots that just aren't of interest to the majority of users, whether the cars aren't anything special, or the car in question is impossible to see in the photo. This thread is a place to propose questions about cars you've seen (feel free to provide pictures of said car), where other members can give their own opinions on the quality of that spot. Such cars would be obscure rebadges, cars not originally sold where you live, or anything that just looks peculiar. The goal is to keep more questionable content out of the DYSAGT thread, while also making members aware of things they could be photographing things whose significance was previously unknown to them. So basically, if you're wondering about any of these...

  • Is this a good spot?
  • What kind of car is this?
  • Should I be looking out for these?
...this is the thread to ask your questions. 👍

An example of this would be a question I recently asked in the DYSAGT thread, and an answer:

I could use a judgement call here. I've been seeing a few Saab 9-2Xs (the rebadged WRX wagon) around here lately, the most recently being one next to me in traffic today. I didn't take a picture due to laziness, but I want to know if you guys think those are worth photographing or not.

I never see those and I live in New York. I'd say snap it.

Yes, you saw something good. Interesting? Not really. :P

Saab 9-5 Gen II

Is it a good spot?
While I don't doubt that you saw one, that's not your photo unless you uploaded it to Wikipedia and labelled it as a diesel. ;) I'd call it a good spot, I can't remember the last time I saw a 9-5, and the new one is quite unusual given that Saab died while making it.

I wasn't saying that's the one I seen, just showing what the car looked like. Thanks for the info though. :)

I don't personally find it interesting but I don't really care for modern cars especially 4 door sedans.

I'd say a Toyota as old as that (and in good shape) is a pretty good spot.

That Toyota is absolutely awesome and I'd drool at it if I saw it in the flesh because:

A) Toyota never made it to Mexico until about a decade ago, so anything before that is absolutely uncommon.
B)Old car in great shape = automatic good spot
C)old modified car = automatic great spot

Good thread, I want to ask for your opinion on these cars spotted by me:

1. 1992 Chevy Caprice Classic.
A common car in the US, but very rare over here.

The Caprice, Jag XJR, and Cayenne GTS are all good spots IMO. I don't know enough about the other cars to say whether or not they're good spots.

The Colt, Focus ST and Mini Cooper Cabrio aren't that special, while the Civic is a maybe. Though that may depend on how often you see those cars in Moscow. The rest are good to go.

I would also consider posting the Colt in the Questionable Mods thread instead. Especially if it's a lower spec model.

I'd say that the UAZ, Chaser and R34 are definitely good spots.

Mazda 2 with black rims? Haven't seen many 2s on the road recently.

I've stopped contributing to DYSAGT because your own posts just drown in everyone else's, but the policy question is interesting.

I snap any car I find 'interesting' rather than good. Generally includes something rare or old. I saw a Citroen BX the other day, and I just had to get a picture of it. Haven't seen one, especially in tidy condition, for years!

Other cars I just happen to snap are Corollas from the 70s, a Subaru 1300, Alfa 156 estate, things like that. Not exactly good, but just makes you go "Oh, don't see many of them."

A Citroen BX in decent nick would always be interesting enough to post, even though they may not be the sort of model one would bother posting because they aren't 'good'. They're rare and quirky enough these days that I'd sooner post one than a GT-R or 911 [Insert model here]. And even though I've never seen a Tesla Model S and only just spotted a Quattroporte for the first time in yonks (funny how I've seen that exact same Mazer half a dozen times already this month), I see those so frequently in the DYSAGT that I can barely muster any interest towards them.

Right now I consider the Subaru XT to be my most interesting spot. Closely followed by the Citroen CX, Scimitar GT, Humber estates and Mk I Hawk. All are either rare, old, or both (in the case of the three Humber's).

That said, there are still some less common spots that I never bothered posting. Might be worth leaving them here to gauge some interest.

I see what you mean and yeah, I suppose it depends on what you're used to; an old Corolla or Lancer is ten a penny in Greece. They'll keep a car until it is dead and halfway towards the afterlife. I hadn't seen an Austin Montego since about 2001.

I'd say that DYSAGT should be DYSAIT. Interesting more than good. I'd say my favourite spots are Triumph Acclaim, Triumph Spitfire, Ford Escort Mexico, Daimler Double-Six and a Mine's R32 GT-R.

Only one of those fits in with the current policy of hyper-performance, but still, the others are certainly worthy of capturing.

And I stick them on Facebook or sometimes Twitter instead anyway.

VR6's are always good spots. The Alfa unless they are GTA's not really interesting even with the V6. The Copen is postable. The other VW thing is a good spot IMO because not even I don't what it is nor I ever seen one. Minivan is meh (don't really know much about it) and the Phaeton is postable.

I got a Saab 9000 Turbo and it is really clean and well kept. I want to know your opinions. Later today I'll post them up.

I also have a M3 E30 but it's so potato quality (or even under, I hadn't time to stabilize). I'll post it (again later) to see if you can recognize it.

Can someone enlighten me about what a Saab 9-3 Aero is? I see 9-3's a lot but this one looked much newer and it had the "Aero" emblem on it.
