Did Nissan let the cat out of the bag with the IDx video?

Saying that they developed the IDx Nismo through ideas garnered from racing simulators and showing clips of someone playing GT5 doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to end up in GT6.

Not going to stop me from hoping, though. Those two cars are handsome.

Possibly. But we all know what PD's communication is like. Wasn't it Mercedes who showed their concept before PD even mentioned it in GT6?

Mercedes specifically mentioned that it was a Vision GT concept (the car itself is called the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo). Nissan made no such mention.

Yes, but they showed it as their Vision concept from day 1. Nissan has said nothing about this being theirs. Now, that doesn't mean these won't end up in the game but they are not Nissan's Vision GT concept.

Wow, that is a cool car and a cool concept! I love the retro style!

Ah fair enough. Still hope these will be in GT. They look great.

Its like the combination of styling elements from the Bluebird 510 (sedan/coupe) and Skyline KPGC10.

I like it very much and hope Nissan builds both models because the narrow 1700 mm would sell very well in Japan as a number 3 car, and the wide 1800 mm for export markets.

And finally the distinctive kink in the door from the R30 Skyline.

This is one of the best examples of retro-futuristic design I've seen in quite a while. A KPGC10 from the future? Sold! I hope this is the type of thing Nissan has planned for GT Vision.

I thought it had a little bit of this skyline in it along with the Datsuns.

^ The photomode location in the second image reminds of of Kyoto Shore-in. The IDx looks cool, but the powertrain will only be a "1.2-to-1.5L gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT)" (Source: Nissan press release)

That's only for the Freeflow. Hopefully the Nismo version has a power n/a engine with a manual gearbox.

Those aren't GT6 screenshots. The reflections of the mirrors and roof on the car's own bodywork could only be possible through raytracing, something the PS3 isn't anywhere near capable of doing.

IDx NISMO:

To meet the high expectations for a powertrain equal to the task of propelling such a formidable car, one proposal from Nissan's engineers is the combination of a high-performance 1.6L direct-injection turbocharged engine together with a sporty CVT with 6-speed manual shift mode and synchronized rev control.
Hopefully if they make it, they offer a manual. I hate CVT's.

It looks like Bristol Motor Speedway to me, car is driving reverse on the oval though
That's what I thought too. The track layout you can see threw me off for a moment but it's overlayed from Suzuka.
