Priced = not free, and bigger = more troublesome to download, install, and update.If PD wanted a bigger and more comprehensive offline experience in a standalone offering, then surely it would make more sense to release a moderately priced spin-off (or DLC) where there would at least be ROI.

As the goal is to get people (mainly kids) interested in cars, or to get people already interested in cars into GT, the price and size works.
Adding content very occasionally (I got the impression he means no more often than quarterly, if even that, and nowhere near a GT7 cadence) makes sense too. For example, MFGT has no EVs right now, and EVs are now 20% of the new car parc and rising. If they want to keep relevance at the young end, they need the cars the kids experience, and you'd have to say the IONIQ 5N is a shoo-in for the first MFGT update.
