Drove around for a couple hours this evening, scouted a garage at dusk, and got a late surprise!

Just on the way home, after a decent day but nothing really standing out, after dark (which happens at just after 5pm here now!) I'm in the left turn lane to leave downtown SF via 3rd St and I hear a NOISE!! coming from beind. Heart beating faster now, check the mirror, it's a Ferrari, and it looks like a good one. Screw it, I jump out of the left turn lane back into straight ahead traffic soon getting on 280, about 3 cars behind him, then 2, then behind him. Made many attempts to get a decent photo. Got this one while hanging off his tail for a good minute trying to get the dang camera to focus. Then he decided that was enough of me there and gave it the beans.

I've always been a little, well, meh on the F430. Maybe that's because I've never heard one scream, and dance in anger between lanes as it escaped my weak attempt to keep up... Looked tight and fast. Guess it's just a F430, maybe modified, who knows, but wow, I was impressed.

Spotting in San Francisco is frustrating. I see 3x more than I catch. Sometimes I chase, but dang the traffic and confusing layout of everything, I rarely catch if I give chase. DBS today. 599, Gallardo, California, Pantera, etc, etc. Did catch the Triumph Sport 6 yesterday, though! :)

The guy was actually really cool and showed me around the car. It's even prettier in person than in photos, especially in the shade of blue he's got.

Fun story: As I was pulling past it going the other direction the woman in the back threw open the door, almost causing me to ding it. I came ---->..<---- that close to hitting a car that's more expensive than the house it was parked next to.

They're both almost always parked right there, so my guess is they belong to someone who works at the gas station.

And one last thing, and this one is special.

The guy that owned it was pretty cool. Just kinda asked if I could take pictures of it when he parked it at a valet spot. I was parked next to it(I got permission from the valet guy standing there), but I forgot to get a side by side photo with my car in the shot. This thing is amazingly low, it only comes up to about half the height of my window. It's amazing, and the vents are larger in person, it almost looks like I could fit my 6'2" self into them.

And the sound was amazing.

I thought that looked familiar...

P8230216.JPG

The grey one on the other side of the crowd used to belong to a friend of mine, he has since replaced it with another one. This time a black roadster, although I've yet to have seen it in person.

Also had no idea the AMG GT was even out yet.

I guess it's not out until next spring... and only a couple production models have been confirmed seen, in Germany, on the roads. This may be the first one in the States, possibly for a commercial?

Huh, that's interesting, hell of a find. I'd assume you're right, something along those lines.

Just a couple of decent car pictures.

Yeah, I saw yet another car in that same college parking lot; a Volvo V70 R.
IMG_20141110_092611.jpg

There was also a Ford Shelby GT500 at a Gas Station that I saw on my way home from school.
IMG_20141110_121806.jpg

And I saw this Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG with silly glare on my phone.

and I'll of course end this post with a spoiler containing my worst quality pictures for people that don't care for quality at all.
Another Ford Shelby GT500!

And a blue Dodge Charger SRT-8

These are mostly older shots, but some are newer. I had a big batch and decided this was better than a single massive post. I've been seeing more and more rare cars in and around Annapolis, lately. Everyone is enjoying the weather while they can.

I thought that looked familiar...

Well this is a neat coincidence. Where did you see it at?

Corvette Z06
20141004_113410_HDR.jpg

Normally super common and nothing special, but this dude had 150k miles on the thing, and he actually used it to bring in 3 old batteries weighing about 300lbs collectively. Something about a 200mph sports car being used as a practical daily driver makes this special.

BMW i3

These are cool entirely because they're weird, but
this is only foreshadowing things to come

Maserati GranCabrio

Porsche 911. Not really sure the exact model, if only there were some kind of sticker to tell me.

This thing is absurdly huge, and I love it.

Dodge Challenger SRT8 Yellow Jacket
20141020_104251_HDR.jpg

The guy was in to buy a battery for his other challenger. Also, excuse the parking job, someone else was in the spot to his left when he pulled in.

Land Rover Defender
20141109_134321.jpg

People looked at me weird when I stopped to take a photo. People don't understand how rare this is.

BMW 1M(I think?)
20141109_134507.jpg

It's either a de-badged 1M or a modified 1 Series, but I want to believe it's a true 1M. Would the brakes on the 1M say "BMW" or "///M"?

Mutha f:censored:in Trans Am.
20141109_144948.jpg

This thing was in perfect condition inside and out. The rims were clean, the body looked new, and even the headlights are clear as day. This thing was drop dead sexy.

And something I've been looking to see ever since I found out it existed, a BMW i8
20141109_131502.jpg

Just look at the damn thing...
20141109_132104.jpg

A spot just happened to open up behind the guy just as I was searching for one, so I took another photo while I was there.
20141109_133814.jpg
And then while I was walking around enjoying the day and doing some car spotting, he passed by the street I was on. I love this thing despite the fact that it appeared to be pooping out a Porsche.

And then the last thing in this post, and the rarest thing I've ever seen...

It's not nearly as desirable as the BMW...

Or as powerful...

Or as nimble...

Or as sleek...

Or as advanced...

But on the list of things I never expected to see in my life, let alone on this side of the ocean, a Citroen 2CV
20140930_160238_HDR.jpg

Seriously, it blew me away when this pulled into the lot. The guy says he imported it himself, and judging by the condition he keeps it in I wouldn't doubt it. Seriously, I see rare exotics of various types fairly often, but this is a car that is special entirely because of it's rarity.

Well this is a neat coincidence. Where did you see it at?

It was at Super Cars on State Street in Harrisburg, PA this August.

I've got a bunch of pictures here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.449384545203750.1073741845.245216385620568&type=3

Today's spots:

I posted this Murcielago a few months ago, and this time I got to me the super nice owner as well. I was a little surprised to when I looked in the mirror and saw he was behind me. When I turned off to go to our house, he gave it the beans and it sounded glorious!
