Deciding to do a little spotting today. Didn't get many pictures because my phone died.

I wouldn't say everywhere to be honest.

They're as common as Impreza STi's and slightly more common than Evo's. In other words, I see 5-10 per week, and I assume there are 20,000+ of them in the US.

Back me up here, guys, anybody get excited when they see an S5?

I did for my first few back in 2011, but then I realized, they're everywhere. Like the S4 almost. I still like to see an S6 or S8 (though I declined to take photos of a pair of S6's today, which are faster than an S5 btw) and I liked the recent appearance of the S3, though I'm over them, now, too.

That's not the case for me. I've seen way more STIs than the Audi S5. For the S5, I've probably only seen 3 per week at the most. With that said, it's just not my definition of "being everywhere". A Chevrolet Corvette would be categorized as everywhere for me; I see probably at least 3 per day.

----
Though, I could stop, but I really don't want to.
I know that it's "quality over quantity", but I can't stand going out a day and only posting one car. *sigh*

I see more A class Audis than Ss.
I would imagine that you would, the A is the base model Audi, the S is the performance model, and the RS is the hardcore performance model.

I've been biased with my snaps again..

I'm so used to seeing S63's, E63's, G63's ( a Brabus one time as well), G500 Pickups, Quattroporte's, Ghibli's, 599's, FF's, Gallarado's, Carrera 4S's, E30's, E46's, E92's, etc., that when I see scarce old muscle I HAVE to snap a pic.. Like this..

They're owned by a wedding day rental company; they rent out everything from table sets to what you'll be driving on the occassion... which explained why these two were automatics.

It was rainy/cloudy so I think most of the cars were scared or else I would've seen more.

Yeah, I might take a shot of an E46 or E36, and maybe the next few F80's as I haven't seen more than a few of them yet, but E92's are a definite pass for me, and I probably see more S5's than E92's. But spotting is relative. In the middle of winter, yeah, I might take a photo of an E92 (still not an S5.)

yeah, this is at a car show, but sometimes I "spot" a car show and feel like taking a photo of the whole thing as a "spot" because when you have no idea there's going to be a show, it's kind of exciting to discover one, and as a bonus, this was on a stretch of road I'd never driven before, so I was truly exploring. plus I don't really do shows so I never post in the other thread. plus this is pretty cool. so I hope you guys don't mind me dropping it here too much...

@jeffgoddin @Doog
Alright, I get it; you guys are tired of them, I won't post those here anymore. Hehe, I should have guessed that people would be sick of those.

EDIT: I actually have to admit that I've even gotten jaded by the e92 BMW M3. Those are actually everywhere in my area. I also kinda wish I could get spots everyday in the same amount as Jeff; he lives in a great area of car spotting in comparison to where I live.

Went to a little café nearby today called the Oil Can Café, which has a few ye olde quirky cars inside it and stuff that you can look around at. I'll save those for the showroom and events thread, but here's some stuff from the car park. Although these aren't really 'wild' spots since I expected good stuff to be there, they weren't part of the café so I'll post them here.

Well.... I work for a car parts retailer (Mazdaspeed6 and Plymouth Sport Satellite above). And I deliver parts for them (=time on the road, see C2 and Caddy above.) And I have no life outside of part time work and carspotting, so I'm out cruising given decent weather (or not even, if I have ants in my pants) and gas in the tank (I budget for about $80/week = 35-40 gallons = 700-800 miles.) I put 170 miles on my car on Friday, for example. And while some of the cruising is just cruising/exploring, a lot of it is hitting the hot spots to see if there's anything new. And I spread out my uploads, limited to 10 or sometimes 15 per day, so it's not like I'm seeing stuff every day. I got 17 keepers on Friday, but only 1 today, for example.

What I'm saying is, I don't think I live in a great area for carspotting, rather I am an absolute carspotting freak. If you really wanted to go to the lengths that I go to, I'm sure you could spot the same or better than me. But if instead you want to have a more normal life and just do carspotting on the side, well, I think you're doing pretty good! :)

Right, I figured that you were working for some kind of car related business, but I wasn't sure. I guess that could explain your spotting.

As for me; To be honest, I don't have much of a life either. I just go to my part time job, school, and then the rest of the time is up to me. I usually prefer to hang around the house. So, I guess I could just try exploring the nearby towns more and see what I find. It sort of has worked out for me in the past.

Well, this was certainly an unexpected thing to see around my town. My first R32 Skyline and it's a GT-R.
19842575054_d410477bb4_c.jpg

EDIT: This makes my earlier post ironic. I was complaining on how rarely I see something good around my area and then this happens to show up.

EDIT 2: The Skyline triggered my car spotting switch.

So, I went exploring around town to find some other cars.

There was a Porsche 944 S2 Convertible and Chevrolet Impala SS at my college.
