Oh I forgot about these pictures. These Vipers were having a photoshoot at the end of a street. I got to talk to one of the owners. He just bought his ACR from Florida a week before that day and he drove it all the way from there to Chicago, where he lives. Here's his Instagram

You gotta love the Dodge Viper. They look so evil and badass...

Finally went spotting on Wednesday, not a great day for spotting, especially not when it's 90 degrees, but I just haven't had the chance for the past couple weeks. A few things have come into work, or spotted between home and work, just starting to upload them now to Flickr after a hiatus uploading there. Check it out if you're curious.

But just wanted to drop this here. Something I found in a driveway (turn around and pull in and knock) on fairly major road out in the country, first time driving there. 30-something bearded tattoo'd guy answers after his big dog jumps on the fence and barks like maybe he can intimidate me or something. "Can I help you?" "Well, thing is, I'm a car nut, and I was driving by, and..."

@ilikewaffles11 can you identify the engine? Anybody want to guess on the model?

He was a real nice guy after that! His dad found the body with a tree growing where the engine should be, saved it, and built a car under it, torsion bars and double wishbone front and back. Fair amount of custom sheet metal work, tasteful, base model still clearly recognizable.

@jeffgoddin Looks like some sort of R Series engine, I was thinking maybe an 18R or something. After Googling a little bit, the valve cover looks like it's from an 18R but the intake is on the wrong side, but a 20R has the intake on the passenger side like that. Maybe some sort of mash up, know some other Toyota engines can be mixed and matched a little bit like that.

I'll look into it a bit more, might be even older than an 18R and I'm not super familiar with anything older than that. :P

Edit: Think I found it! Looks like a 21R

Didn't realize how Japanese heavy this months spots are. Spoiler tags to avoid clutter

Wasn't gonna post but eh, why not, only 105k miles on this little '86 truck

Maybe at least @jeffgoddin will appreciate this little old lady owned 80s Accord! Was completely spotless

One of my favorite finds, an FJ62 Land Cruiser with a turbo diesel B series engine and 5 M/T swap with an FJ60 front end. This thing was gorgeous

Same day found this first gen Celica GT lift back by chance when we turned around here!

We were right down the road from Pocono raceway so plenty of neat cars going by, missed an awesome old Opel Manta but got this SL63 AMG with some XJS

E-Type at a shop with an Elise I didn't notice until I was taking the photo

Realized this was a car show entrance headed back, but Mustang and VW transporter

Made a wrong turn headed back from a junk yard and found this mint early MK2 Supra!

Love it! 👍 I'm always checking out the 80's Accords etc, but have yet to find a mint one... nice find! And I love wrong-turn spotting! As you say, lots of great Japanese stuff in these! And man would I be kicking myself over missing the Manta, but that 1970s Corolla about makes up for it.:)

Oh, and I found this today on my lunch break:

Yay, I saw a green Hellcat! I'm seeing SRT cars a lot more often lately, I think it's because I now live near a Dodge Dealer and it had a couple of Charger Hellcats in the front. I might go buy there this week to look.

It's been a while since I posted a X-Runner, here's one in red!

A first for me, a Volkswagen Fox that's for sale. I found it interesting as I don't think I see that many older VWs on the road aside from the Beetle and Bus.

An Oldsmobile 442 that was outside of a seafood restaurant that I was trying out. That's where I saw the Challenger.

This Chevrolet Impala was in the same area.

Finally got some cars from the west side. I always feel spoiled when I go to Detroit for spotting.
