Turns out... It's not fake!It's a Nobe 100 EV. It's also...kinda fake.
That's great, but that particular example that was shown was fake...at least in some indeterminate part.Turns out... It's not fake!
They just announced that they built the first car and have orders for 100 more! 0_0
Fake as in... a non-functional concept car without an interior. ))That's great, but that particular example that was shown was fake...at least in some indeterminate part.
However you define fake, I'm just glad to hear they are starting to build cars. I'd really like this Baltic beauty to be a success.Fake as in... a non-functional concept car without an interior. ))
Well, the notion of it being fake was really intended to be tongue-in-cheek, hence the "kinda fake" followed by a laughing smiley.Fake as in... a non-functional concept car without an interior. ))
The newspaper had an article about it.Well, the notion of it being fake was really intended to be tongue-in-cheek, hence the "kinda fake" followed by a laughing smiley.
The display model appears to be far, far less than a functional car with window coverings to conceal a gutted interior. Rather, it looks like it may be a machined open cell foam representation that's been wrapped in polyfilm and decorated, then set upon a simple chassis to position the wheels and allow it to roll.
That's all fine, though. I don't know where you saw it but that you didn't know what it was suggests it wasn't any kind of official display.
I'd be interested in knowing how you received the announcement, though--their page doesn't appear to have changed significantly (apart from the notice that there are 38 days left to contribute to their crowdfunding venture), and the only thing close to an actual physical representation of a car is this:
I've actually been following it casually through various design sites and forums, and would really love to see it come to fruition; it looks fantastic and I like the whole idea of it.
Everything about Nobe should probably be split off into its own thread. Looking at the Nobe website, Peter Versterbacka, the former brand manager of Rovio, makers of Angry Birds, is now the marketing and brand manager of Nobe, and he bought the first car. A second car has also been sold, this one to David Helgason, founder, board member and former CEO of Unity Technology. The newspaper had an article about it.
They wrote that the first car is bought by Peter Vesterbacka (Angry Birds)
Sweet, where I live, the Milwaukee Concours is also going to start next weekend.Gonna be a good weekend first day of the St Johns concourse, tomorrow is cars and coffee and then Sunday is the main concourse. Saw my first Honda Beat, Toyota century and my first Aston Martin Virage in Michigan. I saw two Virages in California for car week last year.
I would think that Silverado is a new vehicle, considering it's the 2019 model year. On Chevrolet's website, they say that preproduction vehicles are shown throughout their upcoming Silverado section and that it'll be available late 2018.Doesn’t a M plate mean new car, prototype, or concept that isn’t in production yet?
