Never, ever seen one of these before.

Anyone know the legitimacy of the Alpina part? I don't know enough to know if it's a real one or just some aftermarket bits.

Don't know much about them, but this car is registered as being first registered in Jan 1972 and currently having a 3453cc engine... original would be 3.0L, no?

Did Alpina make any RHD of this model?

First reg being January could signal that it was imported at some point, or just be coincidence.

Cool car either way :)

Someone mentioned that, apparently Alpina did do a 3.2 and 3.5 (I think), so it showing as a 3.5 could signify that it's real or has a swapped engine.

That particular size, 3453cc, seems to have only been used for the1981-2 B7S (90 built) and B9 (88 built) engines according to this, making it a pretty rare engine to choose to swap! Another possible match is the M88 from the M1, also fairly rare! Not sure of the exact cc of the M90, but it's a more likely swap. As would be some other BMW motor bored out to that size (for availability of pistons, rings, etc?), which would be my guess if forced to :)

Old guy Corvette car show in the Walmart parking lot.

Probably the rarest car that ever needed my attention. 1961 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe. 1 of 1. All options ticked. Former GM showcar to show what you could do with your money. Will probably show up at Barrett Jackson if the current owner can keep his emotions under control and not buckle for the fast money.

Wow. That is gorgeous. How did you get access to that car?

One of my customers is always on the prowl for a new Cadillac, so he knows everyone who has one for sale. It was only after I said that I never saw a '61 Eldorado Coupe before that he asked his contacts in the USA what was up with this one. And they urged him to get the car back to the States because of what it is.

This may be a stupid question, but do any Holdens exist in the U.S.? I ask because today I saw what I initially thought was a Chevy SS, only to notice it had a Holden badge on it. Did the owner slap on the badge?

By the way, it sounded quite nice when it pulled away from the stoplight. :sly:

Actually, yes. Some people have actually imported Holdens from Australia or found a way to drive one legally. Doug Demuro has talked about one before and a guy on Vinwiki has also talked about how to get a Holden Ute legally in the US.

Though to note, you probably just saw a Chevy SS with Holden badges on it. I've seen a SS Sedan in my town with Holden badges on it before.

1932 Ford 5-window coupe. Looks like it's powered by an early small block Chevy.

A few cars I saw recently:

Dodge 600 on its last legs, in a handicapped spot (with the correct placard), probably all the owner can afford.

Lotus Esprit

Cadillac CTS wagon with what looks like Dayton 120 spoke wheels. I really like these CTS wagons.

Bustle-back Cadillac Seville in rough shape but still able to get you to the Safeway and back.

I've seen this a few times when I've been in the area, although I've always been driving so no photo of my own, but I did find it on Google Streetview: a ratty 80s RX7.
