last night. Series one of the Saab 99

Had a quick stoplight chat, to a driver of a maroon '68 Phoenix next to me. I asked if it was an auto. He said yeah, an overdrive transmission with 6-speeds. Super low and big fat tyres underneath. Like Lamborghini Countach wide rear tyres, front and rear. Sounded awesome.

So I posted the top picture last year. I didn't realize it at the time until looking more closely, but evidently I saw the same R8 on the way to work today, shown in the bottom picture. Looks like they added some stripes and lowered it a little bit as well. Sounded nice too.

It's a little hard to tell since I shot this at night through my rain-soaked windshield, but this is a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS 35th Anniversary convertible.

Totally unexpected : So out of context

to delete.jpg

EDIT:
following the rules on the first page:
Here is the context in which the very sight of this car is "So Out of Context" !

I was just going to a "FOB" grocery market to get some refills of tea bags. (I love tea).
Once inside, every shopper is "FOB", but particularly two individuals stand out, because they seem even more "FOB" than all others... I didn't think much then... because in the context, it was expected that some are more "FOB" than others...

Apparently these two had finished shopping at the same time as me, and as i drove by them, these very "FOB" people opened 'their' car up right in front of me...

What a surprise!... This is totally unexpected...
Looking at them, i would have never thought this would be their car...
It just doesn't fit in the whole environment...
What is this car doing here?
Why is it use to go grocery shopping? (Not that you can't, but it wouldn't be my first choice, but then again, if i had the car myself, i guess i would...)
But the shocker is: how is this possible for such "FOB" people to have this car... i am not jealous of them, just very surprise that "FOB" could have the taste/audacity to even be driving such a rare car around here... The whole thing just doesnt match up...

I am just baffled and surprised... This is so out of context even witnessing it live...

Pardon me CT but what is FOB?

This is me being judgmental towards other people. I know it is not a way to speak or think, but they are my people, so i feel allowed to criticize them for looking the way they are and dressing the way they do... (in a comical way, not in any serious way).

FOB = Fresh Of the Boat...
Someone who look like they just immigrated to the country because they are not dressed culturally the same way as you would expect them to be, even thought they have been in this country for quite some time.... There is nothing wrong with the way they are or dressed, but one would somehow expect they have at least assimilated a bit of the culture and social norms here, rather than still being the were back in their previous country.

It is very hard to describe... it is a very cultural thing, quite complex as a matter of fact...

I am an immigrant, so i feel like it is ok for me to criticize my own people... it's not like i am trying to kick them out of the country. i am in no authority to do so, nor should anyone have that sort of authority. But if anyone should be kicked out of the country, i should be the first.... but we are all here legally, and the country represents freedom of thoughts/speech/dress/etc, so this is not the issue here.

My above post was just to share an unexpected sighting of a rare car, and i was trying to provide some context...
I may have come off as being so judgmental by explaining the context, but on the contrary i am absolutely happy for them and to see a 4-door Aston Martin Rapide in a neighborhood that i very much least expected...

i am giving this way more thought than necessary. Maybe the context didn't matter after all.
An AM Rapide is still a rare sight no matter where it is... This is problem the 3rd or 4th Rapide i have seen within the past few years...

That's all... nothing wrong, please carry on...
