I saw the start of the Gumball 3000 in Edinburgh city centre on Sunday, and saw a bunch of exotic cars that I've never seen before, though alas these don't really count as a 'spot' since it was part of an organised event...
However, I did somehow manage to facilitate a more genuine 'spot' for none other than my Mum and my nephew, and it was some spot indeed...
My sister and I went to the last Gumball in Edinburgh back in 2014, and correctly predicted the route that most cars would take out of town. This year we didn't quite get it right, but we did at least predict that some cars would be passing my Mum's house on the outskirts of the city, and so we texted my Mum to tell her that they might see some cars go past in around 15 minutes time, and this is what they saw... the Jaguar XJ220 belonging to the founder of the Gumball rally, Maximillion Cooper.
My sister and I also spotted various cars on our way home, including a Bugatti Chiron.
At the event itself, there was two Koenigsegg Regeras, at least two Chirons and one Veyron, a Pagani Huayra, a McLaren Senna, a Zenvo TSR-S and a classic Alfa Romeo Giulia, practically identical to the model recently added to GT7, a Lamborghini Countach, plus practically every modern Ferrari and Lamborghini under the sun.
