Can't say why, but that looks very kitcar'ish.. The rear fender flares look all "off"....

It' s one of the late Pantera models - a GTS. As the things got later and later in years, they tacked on more and more crap, sort of like the Countach. The difference between with the Countach it looked better and with this thing it looks worse. Here's a rear shot of the same car from October of 2005:

By the way, the 'FORD' is on the doors as an aftermarket add-on but refers to the maker of the vehicle's engine.

* A Nissan 350Z convertible, Silver (yesterday).

* A BMW M6 convertible, black (15 min. ago).

No photo though. I dropped my camera the other day and it's "kaputt". :(

Today...

Ferrari 348 GTS. This is the eighth one I've seen - and the fifth this summer! Yet I have never seen a 348tb or 348 Spider. How weird.

Bentley Arnage.

That Arnage picture is just perfect. Not spot-wise, but from an artistic point of view. If it was a pretty lady instead of a car, you could put it in a museum.

Are you sure it isn't the same one from above? Or did you mean eighth time you have seen one?

That's because it is a post-1980 pre-1990 Pantera, and more importantly, a Pantera.

While very true (though the GT5-S was much better in that respect), they did fix it with the Pantera Series 2:

Your picture was of a Pantera GT5, by the way.

I love the Series 2 Panteras, but I've never seen anyone share the same opinion. They look more Italian to me than the earlier Panteras.

Believe it or not, those vehicles are different. With the photos next to each other the differences are more clear:

As you can see, one has the roof panel painted red and the Scuderia shields; the other hasn't got those things.

The ridiculous part is, two more 348 GTS/ts spots from this summer:

All four of those vehicles are different!

Actually the differences on some of them are either small or unnoticeable. About two months ago I went to taking down plate numbers of exotics I spot to make sure I didn't duplicate spots. However, even that is not infallible. For example, these two vehicles are the same:

348ts-060707-3.jpg

And check the plate number on these 360s - I can assure you they are different cars!

To be honest, the Elise 340R is more interesting than the comparably quite common 996 and 993 (though the 993 looks like it could be a GT2). That being said, 993 versus 996 is a great picture idea.

Never seen a red 340R before!! Sweet spot.

Just a little commentary on the photography here (everyone, not just you Holden). I know this isn't the photography thread or Poverty Sexy and Mean Cars thread, but there's a couple really simple things you could do to improve the feel of all of your shots.

Don't center the car in your frame. If you divide up the picture into thirds, both vertical and horizontal, the subject should generally be on one of the 4 points where these 4 lines intersect.

Also leave a little more room around the subject so you get a feel of the environment the car is in. For instance, M5Power's Esprit shot would be absolutely stellar if it had a little more of the background, hence why I asked if he cropped it down from an original. The same with the blue RS4. If you had pulled out a little, placed the car near the righter half of the frame, you would get the notion of the car travelling fast, and where it's traveling. You had the right idea with the Ultima picture, but also a bit more greenery would be pleasant. Gravel is uninteresting.

its a 993 turbo with a turbo S bodykit and a real GT2 wing, has had some engine work done too.they were both "racing each other" (going out on the track together) they were doing 1 minute flat lap times dipping into 58/59 seconds a couple of times(btcc lap record is 54.8).

red 340r is normally always there, its owned by the guy that drove the elise into the front of the black leon a couple of trackdays back.i remember more pictures next time then

on the photography it depends on where you are on the track.the ulitma picture was on full zoom as you cant get close enough to the corner, where as at the hairpin you can get closer.no chopping or photoshop just how they came from the camera

The Ultima pciture is decent in terms of what you've got in there, the shots like the Audi are zoomed in too much (although it's the best shot of the lot by far).

im really liking the photograph of the Murci, both the near-by guardrail and the distant car are in good focus and considering the speed the car is probably traveling at this is an awesome shot.

Ok I'm lame but I really do like these things and they are a bit rare....

As far as I know it's a 2 door 2WD (?) Yukon with "sports" suspension, body coloured grille, and fender flares.

I don't think they sold terribly well.

** They came with different wheels according to www.cars.com

You know, I'm a pretty good photographer, but one thing you should remember here is... these are pictures of cars!! I'm not trying to take the best photo - just a photo. Be happy with what you have!! :D

There are quite a few Yukon GTs around here in Grand Rapids, and as a matter of fact, a classmate of mine had one in High School. If I'm not mistaken, you are correct with the "sportier" body parts and the more street-tuned suspension (I assume its a tweaked Z66 suspension), and I believe used the Vortech 5700 V8 with a shorter rear-axle.

(I may be slightly mistaken. It was the last of the K5-style trucks GM made, may they rest in peace...)

If you want rare you've got to look for a Ford Bronco BOSS 302. There was one for sale around the corner from my fathers house several years ago, one that was nearly considered as an option for a first car, but the fact that it was a Ford scratched it off the list.

I think the K5 Blazer during the GMT 400 era were rarer then the GT's...I think I've seen one or two in the past 3 years.

I have only seen 1 in my entire life and took a picture of it. A day later my phone went through the wash.... :grumpy::dunce:

Nice 340R spot! 👍

Which track is that?

Holden said these weren't rare, but I'll post them anyway.

So we decided to head over to Bicester to pickup some Puma stuff. When we arrived there was a Bentley Arnage parked in a private space(pictures later). So we parked up in a space we had spotted on the way in. I get out of the car and immediately see a car which can only be one thing. A renaultsport spider. I was about to take a photo when two guys walk upto the car. It turns out that the owner of the car is the director of Ontime Automotive - Wellesbourne. the same place where I went for work experience! So basically me and my dad already know the guy quite well, and he tells us he's just taken it in for an MOT, and tells me I was correct saying the car was quite rare. He then said I can have a job anytime after I leave school :)
here it is:
