I may take you up on that, assuming I qualify as reputable. I could use a break from the sunny-but-cold of New England, and as is evidenced by my recent lack of posts here, I could use a breath of fresh hydrocarbons. I'm changing jobs soon and will probably take a long weekend between them. Bringing out the STI for a nice road trip (less than 1,000 miles in the last 6 months) sounds like a good idea.

Do it!!! April will yield some ridiculous stuff - I can feel it.

I've decided to get up with you as soon as I get a gas check from my insurance company. I'm sure I don't need much money to just cruise around and stuff. I just wouldn't feel worth a damn riding through Buckhead with $50.

You have an open invite to come whenever, although weekends are the best days both for me and for cars. Provided we don't get rain, Saturday will likely be the last day for me this school year below 60 degrees. That said if you let me know in enough advance I can do it on basically any day.

After spending quite a few hours the past couple of days driving around looking for cars I really have not come up with much. It makes one really see what some of our members, especially Doug, go through to get some top notch spots.

I think you need to remember that Doug goes searching in Atlanta, Georgia. Home of many rappers and many other very successful people. You live in michigan, and you are trying to spot nice cars in February. Of course you arent going to see many nice cars. No one is going to take their ferrari out in the snow. Salt does terrible things to cars. Thats not to say that Doug isnt investing a lot of effort into his sightings, Im just pointing out that Im sure its much easier for him than for you, given weather and location.

+1

I do spend hours at this, but it's a huge product of my location, too.

Then I thought how a few of you guys go crazy over seeing Skylines. So here is 2 parked next to each other.

You gotta like em 4 door skylines though. Theres so many Skylines popping up here, even my mum knows em now (and she knows absolutlely nothing about cars...).

I was going to search around for a few more, but I was in Broadmeadows, and wanted to get away as soon as possible. Although the Ferrari was taken on Fitzroy St, definitely no Ferrari's in Broadmeadows....

True and I'm not expecting to see a whole hell of a lot right now, I'm mainly focusing on new models (Pontiac G8 is that keeps eluding me), but that's not to say I won't see something great. The other day I saw the Rolls Royce and through out the winter I've seen several Bentley's (one being a Speed), a couple Maserati's (one being a Grand Turismo) and a few other cars. I think I just need to find new areas to car spot, there is a local hotel which is quite costly and is where anyone famous stays at and there is the mall you see in so many of my shots.

Oh, thanks for that... I thought it wasn't legal to own a LHD car in a RHD country, unless you were passing by. I've seen about three RHD cars around here though, which is kinda dumb when you take into account the sheer minimal size of the island.

1 of only 448 produced. Very nice!

My spots for the evening. I couldn't get out til later so all these had to be shot in very low light, so sorry about the quality of some!

I think yesterday was the first time I had ever seen a 928 with the headlights up, it made me giggle. It also made me giggle because it was snowing and the roads were solid salt

I´m coming back tommorow and unfortunatley there are no koenigseggs as of yet :sly:
The weather was pretty bad, the best I´ve managed so far is a 4 car shot involving an F430spider in white, SL500, SL65 AMG and 575 super america, tommorow´s weather says rain but in the rain today I still saw a RR Phantom, DB9, 997 Turbo cab. as new spots. I´m spending next afternoon in the marina in Linaker´s bar and a pizzeria so I´ll do my best, no Doug killers so far

👍

i never even knew they existed.

They are actually quite cool. I very nearly bought one.

They were only made in Australia where they were known as the Magna Ralliart. New Zealand got them as the Diamante Ralliart.

The Ralliart had styling inspired by the Lancer Evolution VI TME. With updated bigger cam profiles, modifications to the head and recalibrated computer, the new Ralliart produced 180 kW (241 hp) and was available in 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. Limited slip differential was also introduced with the manual transmission. The Ralliart also came with premium gear such as Momo steering wheel and Recaro seats, bigger brakes, full leather interior, 17 inch alloy wheels, a full body kit, and a big rear spoiler to name a few features.

I see a few of them where I live too, I believe the reason people never took to them was the handling- apparently even with the AWD it still handled like a FWD, so a cool car that was almost done right and given the wrong AWD system.

Ive seen a few of them around, I must admit the first time I saw one I thought it was some ricer lol.

It almost is a ricer isn't it? Just a factory spec one. :P

Anyone able to answer my R33 GT-R LM question yet?

I didn't think the LM had a wing like that, and assuming you mean the same one as in good ol' GT4, it should have a wide body kit as well, yours has a normal body kit. Nice spot on the R35 by the way.

Today I saw:
Camaro SS 69'
El Camino SS
Unknown Mustang
RX7
991's
Cayman
SLK
350Z
A8
Valiant Charger

And my best spot in my life yet,
An Aston Mart DB9.
Fell in love as I saw it.

Ill give pics if anyone wants be tommorow.

Stuff I couldnt take pics of:
911 GT3
Ferrari 328 GTS
Ferrari 360 CS
Lotus Exige
E-class AMG
HK Monaro

I'll take pics of the 4 muscle cars please :D What on earth is an El Camino doing in Australia? Yobbos, should have just bought a classic ute from one of the 3 Australian options. (Holden, Ford, Valiant)

It could be. It is quite modified though, with a different wing and rear boot, M3 style mirrors and a modified bonnet.

The Ralliart wasn't 4wd it was a FWD with a LSD. It handled quite well for a heavy front driver. The AWD Diamante/Magna's were quite horrible though. They had a very noticeable front bias and the AWD system just added even more weight.

:nervous:

Say it ain't so!

They are actually quite fun to drive. Don't judge them by standard Diamantes though. I think my SV6 Commodore is more fun, even if it does break down all the time :D

Ironic isn't it, the very same people who came up with the Lancer AWD system couldn't design a similarly good one for their other cars. So am I to believe that the FWD versions lapped quicker? And then they put the Ralliart name to a FWD! They must have been smoking something heavy at the time when they thought of that one. I always kind of liked Magnas, they had something, and I always wondered about the tuning potential of the V6 under-hood. If anyone knows more about these cars please PM me. 👍

PS- I don't believe your SV6 breaks down all the time, my step-father owns one and it's a dream.
