Big-ass post!
1971 Charger in a junkyard, the car was a 4-speed mini-pistol-grip car, but the entire section of the floor that contained the transmission was cut away, seem another Charger is now enjoying a 4-speed.
Turbo? Porsche.
Nice lowered 1966 Galaxie in pretty good shape, sounded nice thanks to 351 power:
This was the awesomeness, when I was practicing panning shots with my new XTI I just climber to my roof and shot whatever passed, and this made one of my days!!! I don’t even know what it was based on but it was THE fun, check out the single headlamp and train-like front, and the wing outback! You’d SO drive it. Daily.
You’d also drive this cow-painted Bug:
Incredibly rare! A Mazda RX8!!! They’ve been meaning tos ell it here for 4 years now but nothing, then I see this… maybe they’re testing this one in Mexico city, first one on the street for me.
Then, this very modified and… well, quite horrible but somewhat strangely attractive ’05 Mustang with 1970 style headlamps and general boss-302 vibe; if I had seen it upclose I would have asked the guy for a photoshoot for the mag.
Rare again, a mid-60s Alfa Spider I almost missed, had to cross the street avoiding cars to get the pic (:
Incredibly rare and REAL Porsche 356 SC, belonging to Porsche Club Mexico, of course in absoliutely pristine state; sorry for the uber-bright picture, I was playing with the DSLR and just saw it, the pic came with the exposure as it was set in the camera.
A late-40s Chavy Pick up that has been SEVERELY chopped and has some airbrushed cartoon of the truck on the tailgate
I still don’t know if this is a real Demon (it has those emblems) or a Mexican Super Bee dressed like a Demon; the car is 72 vintage and either way, its powered by a 318 inch engine with a 4-speed trans, and looks really damn mean with those wheels (I think they are Vintage Wheelworks V40s) and fat tires outback, with the black hoodscoops and hood tach; why do I doubt it is a Demon or a converted Mexican super Bee? The Demon was never sold here (:
I took my camera with me because that day I was going to wander trough several places in the city and tought “spot day!”, well, ZERO, I was two blocks from my house with the camera still in my backpack when BAM!
1971 vintage, non-turbo model with an interior that’s falling in pieces, but oh man on the outside it looks so mean. I talked with the owner a little, said he was going to send it out and fix the engine because it was having some trouble. Those wheels are freaking wide. Extremely rare car here as you can imagine.
I think I had posted this already, but bleah… Quatroporte, very uncommon here:
These cars were both outside the same shop, one is this convertible Karmann Ghia that has been under that tarp for at least two years:
Then, at it’s side, an oval-window bug! Looking really sad, too…
Of course, “they’re gonna be restored”, but I have not seen anything that points to that in the two years those have been there. Picture of both:
Mid-late-80s Toyota Supra? Dunno, first time I see one, very rare car here in Mexico, I really like how it looks:
Behind it, a pretty much dead 1966 Galaxie hardtop:
And behind the Galaxie, this 1972 Charger in pretty good shape, and in such an unusual colour; I looove to find a bunch of cars together:
1954 Chevrolet two door, very rusty but salvageable:
Old-time Talon or Eclipse? Dunno, rare car here, never sold in this place:
Gargantuan Bonneville or Catalina convertible, also rare cars anywhere but even more so here, Pontiac flew off the country in the late 60s.
Very cute 1969 (I think) Chevy Nova with real-deal Cragars; I-6 car unfortunately:
Excellent 4-door 67 coronet parts car I found in a junkyard, the car is incredibly complete and would be a pitty to part it out, but it fell in the hands of the junkyard X _ x:
Then this Apache pickup with drag-looking Weld Wheels; had a soupped up small block underhood:
Aaaaaaaaanf that’s it, gigantic indeed, I’ll post more later (:
