 You do realise what that actually is, right? That's no standard Abarth, it's an Assetto Corse! You have either spotted a super rare car or someone that has done a very thorough job of a replica. Any chance of a bigger photo? If it's real, they only made 49 of them so it's a brilliant spot 👍
Here is the original photo. I have no idea if it was real or not.

The show at a Sioux Falls, SD Ford dealer:

A couple cars there were autographed by Roush

Bitter I think. But it looks like a Ferrari 412 with a redone rear. Strange indeed.

EDIT: Yes, it's a Bitter 3.9 SC

I'm fairly sure that's an Assetto Corse, the only thing that's wrong are the wing mirrors, although maybe they've been changed for road use?:ill:

Felipe Massa's Maser Qauttroporte. He drove past me today (I was on foot, he stopped beside me). I tracked the car down in the car park a bit later. Sticker in window says F1 PERSONNEL (F.M.)

Yeah that's what I was thinking, it's got the stripped interior and everything else though.

Jaguar XFR

I followed one of these coming home from work today and my god do they shift!

How come Massa's Quattro. looks so much cooler than the usual ones? Has the model had a recent facelift one or something?

Yeah it was recently facelifted, I was still amazed to see one of my heroes in person though, made my week :D

Thanks for the ID, Rue 👍. According to Wiki, only 461 coupes were built. I'll have to go back and get a better picture some time.

Odd that someone's tried to pass off a Bitter as a Ferrari 400i/412. Despite it's humble underpinnings, it's a much rarer and possibly more valuable car :odd:

If by AW11 you are referring to a Mk1 MR-2 then i guess it comes down to whether you think they good or whether they are rare to you. They made plenty of them and they were sold worldwide and i still see them regularly - so i wouldn't post one myself. Read Giles's original post at the start of this thread and decide whether your spot is valid or not.

DUDE!!! you REALLY NEED to get me BETTER pictures of these two, specially the Chevelle. Awesome stuff.

Heck, I'm so excited I'll post. Some very, VERY old pics, some very recent ones.

First, two days after I bought the S2 I started to practice pan shots and this blew by and was somewhat well captured.
uiok054.jpg

Mexican 1980 Super Bee 360 with solid wheels and monochromatic paint, decent shape but heck, those wheels don’t help it. He’d be better off with some Center Lines.
uiok079.jpg

Very very old spot of a real-deal Levin with hidden headlamps, very rare here, Toyota came to Mexico about 7 years ago only. Have never seen another one since.
various003.jpg

Oh yeah, another very old spot of a 1960 Cadillac in the parking lot of my university! You could say I was amazed to see this incredible car there. It was pretty damn perfect, the thing. A parent? One can only hope it was a cool fellow student’s car.
various015.jpg

various016.jpg

Some old abandoned Subaru or Toyota… if it is a Subaru, it would be even rarer, Subaru entered Mexico 5 years ago. Can anyone tell what it is?
various017.jpg

Old spot and new spot: the top picture was taken about 6 years ago with a 1.3 MP Fuji Camera; about one year ago I found the exact same car in the exact same place and shot it again with the S2. Nice 70 Stang, 351, Wire Cragars…
various018.jpg

This is also a very old picture, taken the same day as the previous Mustang, a 1972 Charger 318, been there about ten years now and it is still in the same place.
various020.jpg

Fully loaded Bug, it’s not lowered, it’s carrying the entire family. Porsche wheels. Yum.
vhkg010.jpg

1960, I think, abandoned Ford truck. It had sat for ages and then, 3 days after I finally decided to shoot it, bam, gone. Sad.
vhkg011.jpg

Oh yeah. If there is one paint scheme I like on these Mustangs is this one, Mexican 1972 Mach 1 351 4-speed with Torq-Thrusts, very, very well restored and maintained. I’ve seen this car run and it goes decent, sounds nice..
vhkg013.jpg

Old Datsun at speed, it’s a Datsun not a Fiat, you can tell because the doors open normally, if it was a Fiat the hinges would be in the rear of the doors, suicide-style.
vhkg015.jpg

Cute 1965 Mustang hardtop spotted at a rolling market in which I get my food :0 fresh and cheap fruit! Ah yeah, stock wheelcovers too.
vhkg016.jpg

Very old pic of a very rare here 1965 Impala, never sold in Mexico, and poor pic because it was taken with a 1.5 mp Fuji about 25 meters away X_x:
vw013.jpg

Yet another Charger, this one loaded with vynil top, real Cragars and flip-up headlamps, shot near my house like… 6 years ago. Missing some stuff like a turn signal, but still pretty neat.
stang025.jpg

Also very old snap of a canary Harley Davidson with wide whitewalls and loads of chrome.
stang026.jpg

This one was weird, from the outside it may look pretty questionable, but look at it! Its got a rollcage and massive tinwork inside, a gigantic spoiler and, above all, a gigantic pair of Webers in the engine. I really really hope its as fast as it looks, and that those puny wheels and tires are for street use only. At leats it has some serious visual impact.
stang029.jpg

Really really good Rambler Ambassador. Most of these cars turned into clouds of rust several years ago, so finding such a perfect one was awesome. All of it stock, and apparently, original paint. :0
str002.jpg

Nice fastback Type 3 VW with late-model Bug wheels and general good shape, these things are increasingly rare to see, specially in fastback trim… tough the rarest is the wagon.
str004.jpg

Late 50s Dodge/Fargo panel truck that has been turned into a graf display, abandoned behind a local food market. Dogs chased me after this.
str007.jpg

Pretty decent 1957 Chevy 4 door… heck even like that, I’d Moon cap it and add yellow flames, and drive it around like there was no tomorrow. Nice car for a daily driver.
str010.jpg

This megaawesome Mexico-only 318-inch Super Bee, complete with really early mag wheels and side exhaust, has been trapped in this parking cage for… well, for at least 8 years. The only time I’ve seen it outside was for repairs. I´d SOOOOOO drive it like crazy, I really like how it looks, even if the paint pattern is not original. And come on, side exhaust…
str013.jpg

Check out the several Batman motifs in this 3d gen Trans Am, a rare find in here, specially in such a good shape.
str015.jpg

I have always, ALWAYS wanted one of these, a Renault 4 people-mover, this one was extremely cool with the blue wheels and white lines and was for sale, too bad I had just gotten into the apartment thing, or maybe I would have even asked about it. Minor glitches but overall ok.
supaniu004.jpg

Same place as the Renault 4, different time, this really, really cool and mean Fox Mustang roared around, romping and stomping, very aggressive camshaft profile… it sounded incredible even at walking pace, I’d love to hear it @ full song. Awesome wheels, cowl hood and pretty ok girl too.
supaniu023.jpg

This one was weird, it’s a Rambler Ambassador also, but look at the continental kit! Look at the round quarter window!!! Were these sold like these, or these things came as options? WTF? I had never seen one like this before. It ruled!
temp007.jpg

Extremely, EXTREMELY rare in Mexico 1963 or 64 Pontiac Tempest station wagon, the only one I’ve ever ever seen here, it was really sad to see it in such a sad shape, but it was extremely restorable. Sadly, I don’t think no one would care about such a car, even if it is so very rare. This thing with a 421 tri-power and gigantic ladder bars, and of course, a straight axle in front… OMG…
temp010.jpg

HAHAHAH this was awesome. This compeltely hand bodied tubular chasis had a VW bug engine, and was formed of flat sheetmetal. I almost cracked with laughter when I found it, but I also had to admit the guy that built it must have had a blast making it and driving this oddity in the street. Its abandoned now, sadly. Heck, I don’t even know if it’s still there, it was like 7 years ago.
temp012.jpg

Also like 7 years ago, this was one of my first abandoned car spots, a 1960 (I think) Studebaker Lark two door, seemed that someone danced in its roof, it was folded down, and the car had an awesome patina everywhere, it was absolutely complete , and it would click right in the rust fad that’s going on right now… check out the 84-85 blue plate and the 53 Chevy in front of it, of which.I don’t know why I don’t have a pic -_-.
tiburon003.jpg

From that same morning, 1966 Dart marooned in an alley, the flash attracted plenty of people and I was in a really ugly part of the city, so I had to move fast…
tiburon005.jpg

Then, this… 1970? Buick Riviera, also very rare here, these were never sold in mexico, and it’s the only one I’ve seen of this model with the hidden headlamps, in pretty decent shape, very restorable, but again, I don’t think anybody cares. I love those wheels.
tiburon010.jpg

And nooooow, facefull of rice!

Let’s start off with… ahem, if this Probe was not riced it would still be a spot, specially that old, the Probe was never sold here. But come on, who does this?
uiok080.jpg

Old pic of a fellow student’s piece of crap at my Uni parking lot.

This was even worse, check out the nike logo on the door.

We used to call this one “The fleamesh”, it lived around work at that time. You can see why if you look at the front fasciae.

This is worse, it belonged to my cousin.

Also, what is a parking cage?

In Mexico City, in some habitational units (that is, a bunch of appartment buildings with common spaces) in certain parts of the city, where car stealing is extreme, some people make "parking cages" to lock their cars inside by day or night and avoid it getting stolen. Some of these are WAY old and contain cars that have not moved in years. I know of a lot of cars like this, but these places are too dangerous to venture into with a camera. The Super Bee was more or less accesible.

Another brilliant post Cano! Is there any way to tell the year of the Renault 4? It looks immaculate!

These are some of the cars I saw yesterday:

(NOTE: The following images are NOT images I took)

Porsche 911 996:
2001_porsche_911_carrera.3.jpg

The thing with the Porsche is, I don't know if it was a regular 996. It looked more like a Carrera 4S, but when looking it up on the internet, the rims weren't the same.

Porsche Cayman:
01_porsche_cayman_s_design_edition_1.jpg

Again, don't know if it was a regular Cayman. This Cayman was beige-grey-ish, and the rims had many spokes, were black, and had a yellow wheelnut.

Ferrari 360 Spider:
ferrari-360-spider-1.jpg

This thing looked amazing, I've never seen one before.

Toyota Supra:
toyota-supra-best-places.jpg

This Supra was in poor shape. It was completely black, it had a rediculous bodykit, and the wheels were too narrow so that you couldn't see them because of the bodykit. Also, only half of the black paint was still on the car...

Alfa Romeo 8C:
car_photo_213760_7.jpg

Rarest car I have ever seen, and the rarest I will ever get to see without any doubt. I have no words for the sheer beauty of this car. It seemed larger than I thought it would be though, and the rims were pretty large as well.

Unfortunately I was on my way to the hospital to have a surgery, and 6-7 hours later when returning home, I directed my mother the same way as we came. It wasn't the shortest one, but this way I could lay my eyes on the Alfa once more. That car totally made up for the whole day 👍

I saw the cars at an "Autostrada" car shop in Skien, if any of the fellow Norwegian guys want at least some bit of evidence :) Here's hoping the Alfa won't be sold by the next time I'll pass the shop again 👍

Seen a couple Bel-Airs today. 4 coupes and two sedans. All really beautiful. Sadly, I only got a picture of one.

DSCI0058-1.jpg

So I got stuck in some sort of cruise traffic while trying to do my running around today, it was lame since I was stuck in traffic for ages around a bunch of stinking old cars that were seriously filling the air with some pretty vile stuff. It's not bad when they are moving, but sitting still pretty bad.

I don't really consider this a show either since it's nothing more then a bunch of people driving around a given road.

Not a lot of foreign cars out in Detroit it looks like. The only foreign cars I spotted in those pics after a very quick look through are the Nissan van, your car and the Ferrari.

I saw a Seat Ibiza here in Seattle today. It was running some weird all black with white letter plates that seemed European.

Great stuff Cano.........as usual 👍

I have a feeling (having searched also) that this MAY well be a first for this particular manufacturer in this thread.

itthamythtewy.jpg

There's also a peculiar story behind this car... I spotted it one February morning at about 9am in our village. I didn't have my camera to hand and only caught a fleeting view of it - I was completely unable to identify it and didn't catch enough of the plate to search for it.

Scroll forwards to yesterday at about 11am a couple hundred miles away from my village on one of the UK's main arterial routes and, bam, there it is again. Luckily I DID have my camera... Now I know what it is... Without cheaty plate-searching - what IS it? :D

The only clue is that the manufacturer has NEVER been spotted in this thread before as far as I can tell...

hands up i didnt have a clue, did think it was british though
twin straight through pipes nice :D

today saw a bunch of awesomeness at the south coast internats, now i have 450 pics to sort through yay!
