M5 which had the best exhaust noise ever.
Austin Healey, he rolled up a little as I took the picture.
Lincoln Continental
1986 Monte Carlo Aerocoupe, I guess only 200 were sold
Maserati Indy, never heard of it
Alfa Romeo Spider
Very nice, I specially like the Monte Carlo, very rare, and the Lincoln. Solid spots. And the Indy, never seen it either, nice front.
Anyway, some more spots from me because it's been a week already:
First this pristine 1966 Mustang Hardtop with factory steel styled wheels and whiteline tires that was at an exhaust shop that usually has one or two vintage ponys in for work. If you like muscle cars youll faint when you see what these guys had one day in a future post.
Meters ahead in the street these two guys were also working on this tattered 1970 Mustang hardtop, totally unrelated to the shop mentioned earlier. Note mismatched wheels. Potential? Yes, but would it be worthy? It looks to be a base model. Maybe not even a 4-barrel car.
Ah, this International pickup may be a 1941 model, something like that, Im not even sure but it was a rare spot indeed, how many of these have you seen? Way rarer than a comparable Ford or Chevy, or even a Mopar. Nice resto-rod, even if Im not too fond of the wire wheels.
Meters ahead I saw something weird coming. Sure enough, it was this M3 cabrio with a very complex camera rig mounting a TV cam, I was later told they were filming some cheesy soap opera. Man look at those magnets! Id so rock that thing. Also, note that the camera is protected against rain by some plastic bag. Practical.
Some night shots of a wire-wheeled (real Cragars, no less) 1968 Impala, most surely a small block car, no big blocks were ever sold here. This thing had escaped me for years, then one night while walking the dogs I finally caught it.
Sorry for the blur, this F100 was taken from a moving bus, decent street rod stance, a pity I could not cacth it better.
Check out this awesomely, insanely cool Maverick 289 complete with mildly polished slot mags, Mustang hood scoop and general 70s street freak vibe. 4-speed car too. It was immaculate. I even like the green.
This is for Diablo, a same-gen Barracuda as his, obviously in worse shape but come on, it has a lot of potential! And its rear window was intact, which is the most difficult part to get for these cars. Minor work and money wouled make this an awesome street stormer, but youd need a V8 swap, the 273 small block was never issued in Mexico, this is a slant six car.
Mid-60s fin Mercedes at a upholstery shop I usually visit because they get some cool cars. Rough shape but pretty restoreable.
Minty Jeep Wagoner of which I still cant see why I did not take a picture of the front aside from its grille behind the magueyes. Still, it was in pretty good shape, and finding these in decent condition is getting way difficult.
Black golf with jumbo colour-matched wheels. Yeah, I know, but it looked more or less clean and the picture was somewhat nice. Bear with me.
Ah, a very original 1969 Mexican dodge Dart GTS with its unmistakable slotted hood, twin exhaust and GTS and 318 badging. It also had its original Inland shifter for the 4-speed trans. These things were the fastest cars in Mexican streets back in the day, with 270 hp. Today they are highly sought-after, but somehow this one has escaped the guys that seem to make a living finding them.
Then a 1961 GMC truck with those extremely cool hood scoops, holding what seemed to be an out-of-.order crane in its flatbed. These are not easy to see around, and this one was pretty tattered but it seemed to be still in use.
Keeping the GMC company was this rusty, abandoned and strikingly cool Renault 4 wagon, this thing had obviously seen better days, check out the custom side exhaust and rust literally drooping from the doors. It smelled just like you see it. Awesome.
Then we have this cool and street-freaky 1965 Mustang, which was not mint but pretty decent, with real Cragar SS wheels (wider rears, correctly) and some pretty nasty exhaust rumble but no lumpy cam, so it was just the exhaust. I still cant comprehend how I could manage to ruin the rear shot. Duh.
A tattered Mexican Monte Carlo SS that would be a pretty good candidate for street machine coolness were it not for the fact that its nose is broken, and finding one is getting very very difficult.
Yet another 65 Mustang, you can see everyone and their mother fixes Mustangs here, this one had a cool street-rod vibe with the American Racing wheels and low stance, and it sounded nice too. It was absolutely mint. I gave a thumbs up and the guy, who was drinking water in a bottle, waved back and spilled a little on the car.
An EVO 9, this things are difficult to see here, and this one belongs to the owner of a shop that puts out some of the fastest air-cooled VWs in the country, which have run the ¼ in the single-digit territory, so Id assume the EVO is not stock. But who knows.
A mid-80s VW Atlantic with cool BBS wheels, I dunno what this car is everywhere else, but in here they literally fall off trees. Finding a decent one is HARD, as they were very unreliable, but this one was neat.
This really cool 1958 Dodge panel was pretty decently restored, not mint nor stock but very good. Still, what really pisses me off is that, when I was snaping it, I had my dogs with me, and when I took the front they moved and the picture came out blurry. Ugh.
This time, we have classic rice! In stark contrast with the awesome green Maverick posted previously, we have another green Maverick that looked half decent from a distance, but closing in revealed the worthless wheels, stupid Mach 1 (thing wasnt even a V8 car) lettering and in the front, replacing the grille, some ricer mesh insert. Duh. I could not get the front because when I was at it some people appeared, and as I was at some ugly point of the city, I preferred not to chance it. Ill get it later.
More rice in the form of an ungainly VWDerby (dunno what it is in other pars of the world) with the horrid front bumper, stupid wheels, stock stance and bike rack. Its a race car, see? It has racing stripes. Ugh.
There we go, pretty blue oval post, this, but oh well, at least just one sucked.
