Thanks Dac, will grab them in home (:
Friday already and I have not posted! What’s with me? Lets.
Incredibly, there is not a single abandoned car in this post, all of them work and are basically cool, first this rare here late-70s, early-80s 3-Series BMW lacking rear bumper and with bonkers aftermarket wheels, weird sight here.
Another rare car to see, this Mercedes was indeed sold in Mexico but in small number, seeing one is rare, so I jumped at it when this all-red showed up with somewhat nice wheels:
Fox Mustang Coupé with weird bodykit and some monstruous rear tires on 80s-style Star wheels, pretty cool if you ask me, very street-freaky.
Audi S5!!! This thing has some presence! It passed us by in a heavy traffic jam then, as the road cleared out he really stomped it, awesome car, very handsome and also very mean in black!
Rolling car-to-car shot that I managed to properly ruin:
Then, meters ahead from my S5 encounter, BAM. A CLS65 AMG. If the S5 had presence, this thing was omnipresent, incredibly mean car, it sounded awesome! I could not get the front tough, as he took the next exit. But still, damn…
When was the last time you saw a decent Renault 5? This TX was pretty good, almost pristine, and no, it doesn’t look raked because it was braking (although it was), but because it was fixed that way, which leads me to think it has some cheap suspension arrangement in replacement of the original stuff. Still, neat little thing.
Someone actually had as much buck and as few brains to buy one of these monstrosities… it’s fast, but come on…
A CC Passat, not such a big deal, but the way the picture came out was weird! It was a car-to-car shot but in the moment I took the picture a pole got in the way and deformed the car. Cool.
As if it was nothing, in the upholstery shop I usually visit to gather feature cars for the mag, there it sat this indecently rare in Mexico Ferrari Testarossa: I’d guess there are about 5 in the entire country, so this was a needle in the haystack. Yellow, too. Aftermarket wheels were decent, but could have been better. BBS better. Not that someone’s complaining tough. I’m sure this is the only Rossa I’ll see in the wild in my entire life, at least here in Mexico.
VW Bug that belongs to a neighbor, the thing is nicely low and has Empi Spider knock-offs, sounds pretty nice too. Clean.
Inside a building parking, peek-a-booeing a first-gen silver Viper roadster, rare to see in here too! Also, note the Alfa station wagon in the back. Got a phot of that one too. It’ll pop in a future post.
Waiting for friend yielded this 65 Mustang Hardtop with stock wheelcovers and in pretty good shape, it pays off to have the camera at hand.
You see? Taken from the same spot as the Mustang, this 1952 Chevy 4-door in very good shape and wearing proud classic car plates.
Karmann Ghia with nice black Empi Spider knock-offs being watched over by a pair of Stormtroopers. This car was awesome, but I had to act fast to get some night shots as the owner just hopped in and drove away. Mah. But it was cool. Very Cal-Look.
In the same Wal Mart parking lot, this Fiat 100 looked neat with the two-tone paint job, raked stance and chrome steel wheels. Come on, it’s one charismatic little car.
Finally, an absolutely pristine Pagoda Mercedes in silver, could not get a front shot because it was all blocked by trees, but believe me, it was absolutely perfect.
Rice! This time it’s a local Jetta with the most horrible wheels I have ever seen and other cheap touches:
Horrid bodykitted Neon with cheap wheels:
If the previous Neon was horrid, this is undescribable:
Finally, this was in a rear view mirror. I loooove english-speaking Mexican bus drivers:
