It was well above 0 the other day, so I got to take my summer bike out and go for a decent ride. I was catching some regular urban photos and this M3 skimmed by, so I felt obliged to take a swing at it. Nothing special about the car, but the lighting worked out well.

Nice to see the HK crew back on board, too!

Whats with the E numbers on those BMWs? Is that an Australian designation?

Thats the model number of the car, ie waht differentiates an old 5 series from a new one, or old 3 series from a new one... or a 3 series coupe from a 4dr etc :)

Same model numbers across the world as far as I know.

E numbers used to differentiate models

1 Series: E81/82/87/88
3 Series: E21, E30, E36, E46, E90/91/92/93
5 Series: E12, E28, E34, E39, E60,61, F10/11
6 Series: E24, E63/64
7 Series: E23, E32, E38, E65/66, F01
8 Series: E31

And the list goes on... for all BMW models, since the E9x 3 series designations models now start F rather than E.

The list applies across the globe and is the basis for even the most basic of BMW enthusiast discussion.

Aussie car pics...

That Volvo is ace! More pics from our antipodean friends would be great.

Dac_xint, yesterday I saw an white M3 exactly the same as the one you posted from Ocean Terminal but it had different plates - uncanny. Will post a pic later.

Submit the 4X4 Fiesta pics to Autoblog/Jalopnik. There is some talk floating around about that car.

Stuff from Friday:

Blue Gallardo Spyder at my old Junior High. No, the school isn't in an affluent area at all, so it's a big surprise to see it here:

Lovin' that FPV Cobra Ute! Too bad they never sold them here... ah well, add it to the list of cars that should have been brought stateside, but never were. Right next to the Mitsubishi FTO and Subaru Impreza 22B.

Cano, sorry but when I went back to shoot the 500K, but the display stand was already removed. I got these instead:
