Geez, where to begin today? Oh yeah, the morning! Driving through a subdivision 5 minutes away from my house, I saw a Bentley Continetal GT with Quebec plates
. After that 5 minute drive seeing that, I was very pleased with my car spotting for the day. Little did I know the day was just beginning...
Fast forward 5 or 6 hours into the afternoon, I'm sitting in the house which is to myself, as my parents had gone to a wedding. My friend calls, and he says he's in Yorkville. There is a
CARERRA GT THERE!!!! So I hop on my bicycle, and try to get to the subway as quickly as possible, only to have the chain fall off the rear. That sets me back a minute, which would prove to be critical as I missed the subway by about 10 seconds which meant a five minute wait until the next train departed. I get down to Yorkville finally, and I meet my friend there, who says I missed the Carrera GT by about 5 minutes
But this does not ruin my day, as I would soon find out. In the area of 5 minutes, I saw
6 360s! 3 Modenas, 1 Spyder, and
2 Challenge Stadales . Also in that area I saw plenty more Ferraris. There was a 355 Spyder F1, a 308 GTS, and a 328 GTS there, but more was to come as we were planning to go to the Ferrari dealership nearby soon. I also saw a Lamborghini Espada, a Vette, a Cayenne Turbo, a handful of 911s, and a couple of Boxters, although I might be forgetting some nice cars (but after seeing 9 Ferraris in about 5 minutes, you tend to ignore lesser vehicles
). We went back past the place to where the Carerra GT was, and there was a 911 Carerra exactly where it was
.
So we then proceeded to go the the Rolls Royce dealership while en-route to the Ferrari dealership. In the Rolls dealership, there was a Silver Spur, a convertible from 1979 (shame on me for forgetting the model name
) and a Phantom Centenary
. Having seen both this and a Maybach, I have to say this is the biggest car I've ever seen! The tires look like they came off a city bus! But after the salesman was done with actual customers, he greeted me and my friend and was very polite. We asked if there were any brochures available, but they cost 115 dollars and were reserved for customers due to the limited quantity they recieved.
We then proceeded to the Ferrari dealership, and while there saw 2 Maserati Spyders, 1 Maserati Coupe (first one I've ever seen), a 575 Maranello, and a white Testerossa! Although some inconciderate being had left a huge finger smudge on the passenger side window
. On the way back from the dealership to the subway station, me and my friend saw a Maserati Spyder, and a 911 Turbo which blasted away from a red light, producing a very pleasing sound!
On my way back home from the subway on my bike, I see an STi and an S2000, but I'm not really taking notice concidering what I just saw! But I soon do take notice one last time, because parked at my local Red Lobster is a black 911 Turbo Cabriolet, the first one I've ever seen!
All in all, a
very good car spotting day! I would have brought my camera, but my parents took it to the wedding
.
