Different versons of the game

It might take longer to release, but how about different versions of GT? Each would be biased towards its targeted region. Whatever is popular in each region would be in their game.

they have already done this.
with GT3 the Japanese got the Lambo to play with, but the rest of the world got left out due to licensing.
I read somewhere that the japanese got the old Mini in GT4 and the rest of the world didn't, but extra cars were added to the PAL release...
personally I think they should all be the same - easier and quicker to convert coz we all know how much time they take to release the game normally.
can you imagine the wait if they had to bias each region

Agreed. Region bias is ghey. If they just made all the GT's the same, there would be a lot less paperwork, and everyone would be happy. I surely hope that the next GT installment is completely unbiased in every way, including the content in the game. That would be pretty sweet.

What would be good is if they did have different versions but all versions had the same cars expect that the prizecars would be for that reagion but in the other versions they would be able to buy. For instance

In the english version you can buy a Dome Zero but have to win a Original Mini

But in the Japanese version you can buy the mini but have to win the Dome Zero :)

I like the idea of different prize cars for different regions sure, I mean the Mini as a prize car is a bad example they're too damn popular to make it a hard to get car. But the principal is good, as for having cars in the European version that arn't in the US and Japanese versions, forget it, if PD have already modeleld thoes cars I want to be able to use them in my version too. If the cars have already been made why not just give everyone everything so everyone's happy.

That brings up another idea of mine: Home Regions (a la Forza). Every country would get every car, no excluding cars for other regions.

HOW IT WORKS

Depending on the home region, the vehicles available for purchase are different. The cars available at the start are the ones available in the home region. Even the used cars are coordinated.

Not too bad. But IRL I can buy all the cars in my home region, that are sold there. So, I can buy a Nissan 350Z for Example in Europe. And in Forza there is too much "unlocking". I don´t like that.

And when you have Home Regions. Can you only race on Tracks that are in your Home Region ?? (unlike in Forza)

You should be restricted to local tracks, what would happen to the GT world championship, Super GT and so on, they race in more than one country or region. You should have access to all the cars and all the tracks wherever your from, just make it different ways to get some of the cars and that would do.

NO! I mean look at the games now, some games have better cars than others and all that crap. I mean if you saw a screenshot from GT3, the japanese version had a Lamborghini Nomad in it from the JGTC series which is why they need to even everything out and not spoil their region because they created the game. Everything should be evened out to everyone, maybe then more people would be happy with the car selections of the game.

The most stupid idea you have had, my game would be soooo boring... Nothing but american cars that way 2 tons.... Screw the USA i'm moving to Japan.

Talking about all this region based issue kind of makes me recall the earlier days of the Pokemon Gameboy series, yes an ackward comparison, but it may add a lil spice to the game, as some say it will be unfair to match each versions, since one will have some cars that the other may not, but think about it this way. Wouldn't it be more interesting if you could be able to trade via Online, with of course what "GT5" supposely will have, Online Capabilities. So people worldwide, that own a NTSC/UC...NTSC/J...PAL... etc.. can trade cars to each other that their own respected versions have... Of course not considering the delay that each version will have. In conclusion, Polyphony could commense a series of tournaments, or so in which whomever comes out victorious wins a special car, that connects with an idea I heard not so long ago of (Online Updates) the update could add the winner a prize car.

I'm not going the NASCAR way  O wait Audi R8 raceing at Infineon how oculd i have forgotten! The R8 was made for Infineon :dunce: But i still don't like the idea.

I would hope that ANY region tweaking would only be a slight shuffling like someone said above. So that all the cars are available in all versions, but some are available for sale in dealerships, while others must be unlocked. But I would MUCH rather that this version of Gran Turismo be universal for all regions, including music.

Oh, and what Bentley said was interesting. Assuming there is regional car lists, we in the other regions could make a decent "living" stocking up on cars that are unavailable in other regions and offering them for sale or auction. But I'd hope that the car list itself isn't the reason for such activity. I'd rather that the modding and paint shop artists would be the ones offering unique cars on the world net sale listings. That's one thing I'd really like to see! 👍
