I'm really considering on buying a pc, I was just wondering if there was any sort of mod support for this game. Not that, that would change me getting it for pc, just wondering.

Like all other Codemaster games, there aren't that many mods for this game. You can get a good idea of what's available by taking a look at the RaceDepartment downloads page. Most of the mods are just skin replacements as that's the easiest to make. There's the "Any Car Any Track" mod that lets you drive rallycross cars on rally stages and rally cars on rallycross tracks. There's telemetry mods for people who like to analyze their driving.

The camera mod I used is available on their GitHub repository only. I found it via this website: https://framedsc.github.io/GameGuides/dirtrally2.htm

Thank you, the livery and any car any track thing is what mainly interests me.

There are some basic mods such as liveries and data readers that can be used as dashboards, but anything that affects how the cars drive is pretty much off limits and lock you out of certain features.

The game also has Valve Anti-Cheat so be careful with what you add on.

So I finally pulled the trigger. How would livery mods work? Do they replace the already existing liveries?
Yeah, they replace existing mods. Usually, the mod should have instructions as to where to install it and what it replaces

Where else can I find mods?
DR2 is a bit of a niche game so there aren't that many other places to get mods tbh. I personally haven't had any problems with RaceDepartment for Assetto Corsa mods

I've noticed the nicheness, there isn't any mods for quite a few cars.

First run with both the DLC car as well as my first proper run with my G29 after a good friend pointed out that I actually needed to calibrate the wheel (Something I didn't do, which explains why I was not so stellar in testing it out). Kinda stopped playing after being burnt out both due to the same stages and cars as well as just not being in a good place emotionally (Never a good thing to have for a driving game in general).

While not as extensive as RD most mods can be found via creator.
The advertising at RD became so intrusive along with the change to downloads for premium members rubbed me up the wrong way.

Wish they had a section for miscellaneous stuff in the dr2.0 mods section like for the livery editor, hard too find stuff amongst the hundreds of skins. Racedepartment that is, sorry thought I was there for a moment lol

So I've been playing this game a lot on Xbox One X.
I got the Colin Mc Rae full edition that was on sale last christmas.
I've been running a championship with the Lancia Fulvia and it feels great.
Strange thing though that my Fanatec CSL just synced with the Xbox right away and I was playing the game save some adjustments.
Whether on my PS4 slim, the game didn't even recognized the wheel.

This game has a better force feedback and road sensitivity than WRC 8 though, I have to admit.

No surprise my top played game in 2020, but didn’t realize I played that much PC3 since September.

I think the hours played could be wrong. Mine had ridiculous numbers that I know simply aren't true. I hardly touched my PS4 last year, I was mostly playing on Xbox.

Well I've just had a 14.7gb update land on Steam!

This 'small' update fixes some track limits at Holjes, adjusts the performance of dynamic trackside signage and has minor fixes, none of which are notable enough to be highlighted (CM's words not mine).

All of which makes the massive size of it rather odd.

Apparently people's wheel settings are getting reset with the update, so be sure to have a screenshot or something of them

I have to admit the size caught me off-guard too. It's 10 GB on Xbox by the way.

I think it's down to the fact that republishing certain assets (like a full location) usually results in the entire location having to be redownloaded.

I imagine the same is true for the system that powers the dynamic banners (which is currently only on Steam).

Only heard this with Logitech at the moment, my Fanatec was fine during lunch.

So, I love this game on ps4pro.
I have been considering budgeting for a pc. If I had a quality pc capable of running the game at high settings, is it that much better?
Is there added functionality on pc?

Can some of the experts tell me what a decent time at Sweet Lamb is with a 4WD Group B machine without excessive cutting?
Off the top of my head, I can't.

Time Trial leaderboards, and add 30 seconds (not because of cuts, but because top 1% is really that fast).

The game is functionally identical on all platforms.

PC brings the usual benefits like higher spec graphics (PS4 Pro is 1440p60, High preset or thereabouts), limited moddability, and VR.

After months of waiting/salivating, I finally got a new system to run this... and on only my second stage, I got significant audio loss, including the pace notes. :ouch:

Weirdly I was still getting relatively clear feedback from gravel hitting the car/running wide onto verges e.t.c. Anyone got tips/tricks to deal with that? Worryingly it persevered through a restart of the game, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

With the central car view? I don't think so as it always cycles between the internal cams.

Closest you'll get is using one of the game cameras, like Cockpit or Dashboard.

I only found this little useless trick (on the PS4). Stopping the replay when the central onboard cam disappears, (that is, in the next in the cycle which is the long thin bonnet), then going very slowly backwards with L2 till the onboard shows again, the first few thousands back there's this "zoom in" effect before the cam view goes back to normal (I just added the audio and the ping-pong effect in the vid). But as I said, it's useless, I found no way to keep this view for a whole replay. What a pity...

Dudes. I haven't been playing much of late but when I logged in on my PS4 Pro a few weeks ago, by G29 H-shifter ceased working with Dirt 2.0. It works and worked fine in all other games including Dirt 5. I abandoned it. Didn't have time to troubleshoot.

My PS5 was delivered today and after transferring games and saved data across from the PS4 Pro, I booted up Dirt 2.0 to check that the game save was ok and I couldn't resist having a quick bash. To my dismay, the same problem exists. H shifter doesn't work. I've tried changing the input settings to Manual Sequential, Hshift with clus, H shift without clutch and whatever all the options are. I can shift gears with the paddles, but the h shifter is just completely dead. The game just doesn't recognise that its there.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it due to a recent update?
