Dirty racers thinking they are clean

hey guys this is my first gran turismo, I mainly got for career/trophies. I'm about average at time this game I admit, but I can usually get top 10 in sport mode, but now im only playing to get 322 race finishes. Because of my qualifying time the players I get are average to decent. And this is where my problem is, I keep racing dirty players who don't even know they are dirty. People keep dive bombing me in the corners and forcing me off track or I hold my line and I get orange SR. I'm like ok this was an accident but then it happened another few times in the same race, me getting bad SR rating each time. I meet him again and the same happens, so I just lost it and crashed him. My SR doesn't get as damaged if I crash him out at the start, so it's better for my rating, so I'm going to continue doing it. But the thing is he calls me dirty and finds no problem in his racing. This has happened quite a lot with other players and I've just about had enough, I've just started wiping people out and started a destruction derby because I don't even need to win anymore. I'm having much more fun this way. Im not really into racing, I don't particularly like racing, but I have to play for 322 races. My point to this is dirty players who don't even know they are dirty, so I'm not even gonna try anymore. unless from my lack of experience playing racing games dive bombing is perfectly acceptable, then I apologise but to me it seems dirty. I have bad English so I doubt anyone will even get my point but I wrote this because I'm sick of it and it has ruined this game for me, although crashing people will be just as fun for the next 200 races.

made a video, to see clearly what you mean, because mostly everybody is thinking he Is a friendly driver, but shows mostly it´s not...... so I record all my races, and when I was pissed that somebody bombed me, I check the video, and a lot of time it is because I didn't let space to take me over.....

Well I have been playing kyoto or whatever that track is and it's the long straight at the start they get a lot of slip stream and then just go on the inside when I clearly am ahead and they should slow down to take a better line but the just carry on forcing me off or they hit me and I get bad SR. it's hard to explain but I have already entered the corner first but they just come on the inside forcing me off. Fair enough on other corners but it's just bad sportsmanship

I’ve been a critic of the SR system, but sounds like you deserve everything you get. Watch a replay of yourself and you may find you’re not quite the clean driver you think you are and the fact that you have chucked a tantrum and are now deliberately ruining others races and deliberately crashing into others makes me suspect this further. Surely the better option would be to get better, rank up and move on from the dive bombers instead of sinking to their level?

I’ve been a critic of the SR system, but sounds like you deserve everything you get. Watch a replay of yourself and you may find you’re not quite the clean driver you think you are and the fact that you have chucked a tantrum and are now deliberately ruining others races and deliberately crashing into others makes me suspect this further. Surely the better option would be to get better, rank up and move on from the dive bombers instead of sinking to their level?

hi I have checked my replay and he just dive bombs me from the inside on a corner you really can't go that far inside without it badly effecting us both and especially me. And as I said I'm not into racing so I have fun either way, once 322 races is done I'm finished with the game. And you say get better I'm top 10 in Europe regularly while I've been trying to get the pole position trophy. I mean if I'm going to get a penalty and lose the race everytime because of this then I may as well have fun.

You are right that there are people who claim to be clean but actually imply dirty tactics or don't understand what being clean means. I had a guy come to the inside of my viper touching right behind my rare tire causing an uncontrollable slide I tried to save and I wound up sliding right back into him taking both of us out of the race. He proceeded to run me off the road and grief me the rest of the race at a detriment to both our Sr ratings. Then called me dirty in a message. He had his YouTube channel posted on his profile info so I watched some of his racing, he definitely races like a five year old. Ramming and rubbing and just punting everyone who is slower then he is. Every video he has he has a penalty showing. Lol. Yup your super clean dude. Thanks for ruining my S sr rating.

We need virtual mirrors in every ****ing camera view, how can people have clean races without mirrors! , and i dont care if its realistic or not, if we can use any camera view in sport races then give us mirrors in every camera view. In my last race someone took the inside line aggressively and hit me (the most common situation as far i can see) but then when i watch the replay i noticed than that was not dirty at all, it was aggressive yes, but not completely dirty, if i had a mirror in that moment i would have seen him coming and gave him more space and "probably" we would have taken the curve together without any SR being damaged

people just have to accept bumping is racing, it happens, deal with it - sure there are some muppets who do more than just bumping, and they should be called out but a few nudges here and there are all part of racing, real life and especially on GTS or other racing sims....

Since I got my GTS, I only race GR3. My Sportsmanship rating went to S in matter of few races and the race is clean from there on. But racing is rubbin, so occasional bump is something to be expected even when your DR was in joepardy.

To get your DR rise up, you need to be in TOP 5 in every race, so at RANK A/B/C, the only things that matters is DR ( because SR is so easy to get S )

Here's my last race against class D from Australia, clean driver, block very early and I have to think my next maneuver.

Use the radar... I keep being hit by drivers changing lines while I’m alongside them. I let them pass me if I make a mistake and give them more than a car width in corners but I still get pushed around. I guess we have to accept the fact that we’re not pros and very few of us will ever race in real life.

Radar doesnt help when someone attack during the braking zone trying to take the inside line, when you see him in the radar is too late...

@Louis Jenkins let those pass, drive out from racing line and lift up gas, wait for needed safe space and drive clean race.
If he hits you before above, do above, don't try to challenge him, just forget him.

Doing above and pretty soon you're on different room with much cleaner guys.

I had TWO bad behaving dudes on three races, I did above (even got dropped/hitted from P3 and lifted gas till was P7). Next is just curiosity note, there was rumor of hot blooded Spanish drivers on GT6, seems like they've changed blood with French now - nothing personal to country, just bad luck at it was represented in this way to me on GTS.

Here we go again, adjust your driving and try yo get away from dirty drivers behind him or in front. Did then races last night and they were all awsome. Yeah sometimes a get rammed by accident it can happen dont be a pussy and try to get back.

I also drive sometimes back in someone because they brake to early on point where not to brake then i wait for that person to come back and let him pass and we go on...... thats how it should be with everyone. Dont focus to much on wich place you are!

If I get in a race with a lot of losers that like to drive 90's BTCC-style, I rage quit. I don't care if my DR or SR-rating drops. I tolerate a little paint swapping by drivers that are not that familiar with racing, but last night I had 3 races I rage quit because:
* in two of the races I was pit manoeuvred on the straights while leading the race (by two different BA-rated drivers),
* and the third time I started as 5th or so and watched a CA-rated driver in front of me bump into the drivers in front 4 or 5 times before I got past him. After a few turns behind me he braked way too late and slammed straight into the side of my car so my car almost flew into the tire wall. I spun so many times that by the time my car had stopped the entire field was past me ... I tried to send this as a video in a private message to the d*ckhead, but I could only send images in Playstations direct message functionality.

Winning is not everything, and I enjoy the races where I start in the middle of the field as much as the ones I win, however I don't tolerate reckless driving. I'm here for serious driving.

I don't know if crashing in to people is fun, you are doiing the same as the guys that ruin your race
if you keep doiing this then i hope you don't do another 200 races
drive clean so your SR goes up and race clean

Well crashing to people yourself would do harm to you and others looking to have a good time or climb the ratings, but think of the consequences in another perspective. You're lowering your rating so you can now come across more noobs, so therefore you can get easier races and have stronger ghosting against your opponents for any sort of clean racing goal you need to attain. So currently you're just de-ranking until you find your suitable rating with your play style. It is not the same as purposely throwing to de-rank in other games where it's considered really toxic practice like team-based games, because Sports Mode so far is about solo competitive racing, and no one is really effected by your decision except those unfortunate to be affected often by you when you're throwing (be mindful about who you're ramming to).

I don't condone this but if you think your rating isn't where you should be in your achievement goals, consider lowering your rating.

Been browsing gtplanet for a while and loving the new game but having similar problems.

I am posting as I was in that race last night too, in 4th place in a Porsche too. Me and 3rd were having a little battle and he went wide and I took the inside line, thought it was going to be clean but unfortunately we came together and I got a 10 second penalty. This all happened at about 2.36 into the video just in the background. It was a shame as it spoiled the race as I took the penalty. Still D/S though maybe see you in another race Steve

How is that a good one I don't need pole position anymore but on the last daily races the one in maggoire in gr3 cars I finished 7th, if I try I can finish top 10 it's not hard not many people try in the daily races lol

I didn't say I was clean I'm probably not the cleanest but the people who are all high and mighty who don't even know there dirty annoy me. Like if it was a normal player who did it then fair enough but these players have GTP in there name and think there the stewards of clean racing and upstanding members in the gran turismo community are the first to run you off the track and when you do it back then I'm dirty and they see no problem with themselves. But as I say I'm only playing for the platinum now so I'm really not assed, I have not affinity to this game whatsoever, so I'll happily crash people out I will genuinely have more fun this way. I only came to this website because of the GTP name the player had

If someone was quicker I wouldn't fight too hard and if someone was divebombing I'd let them go, most of the time they would have issues with the next guy up the road and take each other out so I'd gain two places. Once my SR was "B" and DR was "D" I started to notice an improvement from then on in the way people drove so I could focus more on getting top 3 finishes. Okay, theres always that one guy per race and you make your own mistakes now and again but if you just try to stay out of trouble and at least finish in the top 5 your DR rating goes up.

I'm now B/S and the racing is much better and much more challenging, I'm not the quickest in most of the races but clean and consistent usually gets decent results and the odd win. Thanks for your help but I am S rank, and usually start in pole position. I am not slow but people slip stream up to me and dive bomb me. I just slow down at the start now even when I'm pole position and wipe the same guy out every race he starts 7th, as we always get put in the same race.
