Disqualified, what are the rules?

It happened to me multiple times. You go off track with or without a collision and let's say you end up in the grass.
The game should bring you back on track, but that doesn't happen all the time.
Then you try to go back on track by yourself. All of a sudden you are being disqualified, because it took to long.
Why is that? And what are the rules about that eg time offtrack, position?

And can you prevent that from happening, eventhough you are still offtrack?

Basically, if you sit still too long, as in to allow cars to pass before re entering, the DQ will sometimes come up. Also after too many contacts it will come up as well.

Yeah i quite enjoy that i can be taken out, not get reset on track and then be threatened with DQ for trying to get back in the same area code as the track without hitting anyone. Just more fine work from PD.

I don’t see anyone ever bother about rejoining cautiously, the cars are ghosted anyways.
Standard behavior is people who get knocked off come back on ASAP wherever they want, they are ghosted. I’m pretty careful to give cars a wide berth in those situations.
After racing AI on ACC I think the madness that pops up on GTS is a big part of the fun...
Everyone behaving perfectly is, well, boring.

Thou shalt make a track re-entry withing 20 seconds, safe or not.
Thou shalt be penalized with a track limit penalty for avoiding another car or getting bumped off track.
Thou shalt be penalized with a wall hit penalty when bumped into a wall.

However

Thou shalt freely side swipe another car off the track to get ahead.
Thou shalt freely bump the car ahead wide to make room to pass.
Thou shalt freely dive on the inside of the car in front and spin them out to make a pass.

Those are the rules of GT Sport.

except when they aren't or they unghost in front of you after just rejoining 70 km/h slower than everyone else, that is a real treat.

Lmao. :)
The Commandments :)
“Thou shall punt thy opponent freely however ye shall be penalized for being punted upon.”

Well, apart from the cynical comments, I still know nothing:lol:

You can sometimes get reset on track faster by driving further off road or spin yourself out. Hard opposite wheel lock hand brake turn full throttle sometimes helps to trigger a reset  The game has a funny way of resetting you right before you get back on the road so it's much faster to try to trigger a reset in the first place :banghead:

When you see the counter going on screen, hurry up. It doesn't stop counting down until you up to a reasonable speed back on the track, then you often get an SR Down for triggering the DQ countdown timer.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But you can not do that everywhere. I wish it was the solution.
And I have never ever seen a DQ timer. I am going to search online for a screenshot of that.

can't find any. searched for 2 minutes:D:cheers:

Do you have it turned off somehow? Simply drive the wrong way for a couple seconds and it will come up right in the middle of the screen, cant miss it. Here you go, from when I almost missed the race starting (did miss the start obviously, nearly timed out)
