Distance Driven not calculated when in Test Drive Mode

Hello racers!

I'm having a lot of fun with GT6, I really like it. It's not perfect, but it's still a great sim to me.

I had some difficulties with the BMW M4 Coupé on the seasonal event, so I took my new M4 Coupé, with 0 KM on it for a test drive on the Nürburgring GP/F track. I drove it for around an hour or so on the track. I was curious to see how many KM did I managed to do during my test drive, so I went it the spec of the car. My M4 Coupé had around 125KM on the counter. On the next morning, I went on the track (still test driving) for a couples of laps and when back to the spec of the car to see that they were only 20KM or so on the counter. I went for another car on another track and took back my M4 Coupé: the spec shows 0Km.... So after a couple of check, I have conclude that when you test drive a car in GT6, it does not calculates the KM for the car...but it calculates the KM that you do on the track in test drive mode, because Nürburgring GP/F is now the track that I use the most in the psersonals stats of GT6....

Did you experienced that? Does it bugs you? Do I need to report this to PD?

It's a small problem compare to other things in GT6, but it bugs me!

...sorry for my confuse sunday morning mini-rant!

....still, I like GT6 a lot!

Ciao!

I took my stock '83 Nissan Skyline to Suzuka in test drive mode yesterday, saved my best lap replay, exited to the main screen and shut the game off. This morning I go to my garage and it says that same Skyline has 0.0 miles on it. I checked and the replay did save, so it's just some sort of stupid glitch.

This morning, I took my NISSAN SKYLINE 2000 GT-R '73, test drive it for more than 60KM. Went back at the menu, forced a save and check back at the stats, bingo, the 60KM is still on the counter... So it might be a save progress problem. I will make some more test to see.

Thank you SuzukaStar for your reply.

If by 'Test Drive' you are referring to using the 'Arcade Mode Time Trial', then no, it will not add the mileage to your car, only to your overall stats.

If you wish for the mileage to be added to your cars as you test drive them, I suggest you use the 'Free Run' mode from inside the Garage.

If, however, this is all happening while using the 'Free Run' mode then I do not really have an answer for why the mileage has not stuck.

But did you save the game?

No, not in arcade mode. When you go to your garage, just under "Car Settings" you have the option "Test Drive" and then, you choose the circuit. This is what I'm talking about. later today, I will try it back with my M4 Coupé to see if the "forced save game" will do the trick of if it's a car related problem.

I have done the reb bull junior challenge lot of times but the mileage on my red bull junior is still at zero. ..

That is because the RBJ is supplied by the game for that challenge, you do not use your own. You can drive your owned one elsewhere and the mileage will start racking up on to it.

Well.... I made some other test, and it seems to me that when you "Test Drive" or "Free Run" with a car, the "Driven Distance" is saved when you change car or do something that requires a "Save". It looks like GT6 does not save it right away, so if you exit the game right after a test drive, you might have to say bye bye to your KM or mileage done during your test drive or free run.

I went back with my BMW M4 Coupé on the Nürburgring GP/F track, I made a couples of laps, for about 30KM. Went to the main menu and forced a save. My 30KM is now on the counter in the car specs....

So far, I did not test thoroughly, so, take this with a grain of salt...

Thank you all for your inputs!

Yes, even though the game says it is saving, it is not.. It happened to me too. But I've had no problems since I started changing car and go back to the main menu before shutting down.

I don't think online races count towards a car's mileage either. For instance, I have an SLS Stealth Model that I know I have driven online a couple of weeks ago. Having checked the mileage just the other day, it had 0.0 miles on it.
