DLC is ruining content of games

I think GT Prologue and GT5 made enough Money for GT6 Development. Maybe GT7 too.

I think that doesn't matter. They use DLC to earn Money and they want that GT5 owners Play GT longer.
Sony could but pressure at PD, because the Console Cycle is ending. They maybe want GT6 on PS3 or as a release Game for ps4.

It's not about how much money they made, it's how much money will it keep making. Sony made PD realease early so they can make some money. So the idea is that to prevent Sony from doing it again, they release the DLC to keep the money coming in and the keeps Sony off PD's back, and in turn gives PD more development time for GT6.

Chances are GT6 won't be for PS4. They would have to totally start from scratch on the development, which would mean we won't see GT6 for a very long time. It's no secret that Sony is all about money, so they want these game makers to bring in as much money as possible. Having GT6 on PS4 is not a good idea from Sony's point of view.

How do you figure, the hardware in the PS3 is what, going on 6 years old now? That is ancient history in computing terms. As is the system can't support what Kaz wants to do, all we can hope for out of GT5 is the same old DLC we have been getting. Releasing GT6 on the PS4 is exactly what Sony needs to do, they need a franchise game on release day to convince customers to drop another $400 to $500 on a new console.

Given that a GT was planned as a launch title (or just after) for both the PS2 and PS3 I think the chances of getting a GT at launch for the PS4 are fairly remote.

What is it that he wants? You could make a completely different GT game with the same hardware we have now. A lot of GT5's issues aren't limited by the PS3, and going by the kind of updates we've been getting, while there is improvement to be found, I think a new game would be needed to really fix GT5.

Rumor has it that work on GT6 has already begun, though I can't personally confirm that. Sony has stated a shelf life for the PS3 console to be five years which it has now exceeded. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me. Being new to consoles perhaps there is another franchise player to be had that I am unaware of. Personally, I would love to see GT6 released with the new console.

Judging by the promises made I would say he wants a more hard core sim. The PS3 hardware simply is not up to the task of delivering much more.

Kaz has confirmed it's under work since before GT5 was released, yes. As for your second comment, they've never stated it had a life of 5 years, they always mention a ten year life cycle.

Well the 10 Year Cycle doesn't mean that a PS4 can't be released. They'll Support or try to Support the PS3 for 10 years.

Of course they will support the PS3 for awhile.
They are making profit on those units now. Also 3rd party support would much rather produce games for an established user base as its more consumers for them.

I would guess at quite a large overlap with both Xbox/playstations and there bigger equivalents.

I wouldn't be surprised at a spike in sales for both Xbox 360 PS3 when new consoles are launched and old hardware gets even cheaper.

Yep I know that, the PS2 had the same 10 year cycle but the PS3 was released before that was up. Just pointing out they never said anything about 5 years.

If done properly DLC could be great. Like old PC expansion packs (showing my age a bit). It just isn't done that way. PD at least seem to be working to add new content (as in it wasn't ready when the game released). Others seem to have truckloads ready at release that could and probably should have been on the disc, but they decide to stagger the release to increase revenue.

Also (on a slightly different point), adding an extra map or track for 1/10th the intial price is nowhere near as good value as the original game. Just taking GT5 for example (although most modern games could be used instead) we have had 4 tracks now and about 20 cars, plus some paints and suits, totalling about 1/2 the price of the standard version of the game. If GT5 had released with 8 tracks and 40 cars can you imagine the uproar:)
