I bought a Component lead for my PS2 to go into my Plasma, all PAL. Is there a setting i need to change? Or a diff version of the game.

No PAL version of GT4 has 1080i, or even 480p afaik. Only the NTSC version has, sorry. To be fair though, the PAL version looks way better than NTSC on regular settings.

Edit - Also on my NTSC game through component, the 480p & 1080i while better looking than standard suffer from horrible ghosting, that's probably my TV or £2.99 component cable. I actually found a Sony Component cable yesterday to buy after hours of looking so bought it, hopefully that will improve things.

Now I'm absolutely sure that GTP's position on emulation - not least of a console currently on sale and a game still available in the shops - is quite clear. If there's any repeats of the last two (now deleted) posts - and you know who you are - I won't be impressed. And when I'm not impressed, Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset...

You'll need the NTSC-J version, by the way. And a console to play it on.

If you have a version that supports 1080i (and 480p), you should get that option under OPTION>SCREEN>VIDEO OUTPUT(Normal/480p/1080i). Make sure you press the OK button after each confirmation windows/boxes. You need to do this each time you start the game since it's not a savable option. The GT4 I have (which supports 1080i) is the North American NTSC version.
