Do you like your country?

New Zealand is pretty chill, and not just because we're near Antarctica. We're a few islands in the middle of nowhere (unless you consider Australia a somewhere, in which case we're near that.) with surprisingly few people considering the land mass. Quite separate from the rest of the world, yet not isolated enough to miss out on everything. I mean the country has its issues, but I do my best to not think about Politics, so I don't notice it too much... Even though our Navy probably consists of a dinghy and some kitchen utensils, and our national animal is a bird that can't fly, or protect itself. I'd say we're alright.

I live in Mexico and I don't like it, everything is half assed and very shallow, it may seem like we have diversity but no, that's us just trying to emulate other countries because we find our roots disgusting or lack the education to the understand them. If we treat someone good, we're just after his/her money. We dislike each other so much we even make fun of mexicans who are kicking ass overseas or downright ignore them and glorify criminals and idiots. Truth is we have no identity, what was here, on this land before it was conquered is almost gone, the people that keep the traditions alive are in extreme poverty and are discriminated. They're in smaller and smaller communities in unaccesible areas.

The only good thing we have is the land and even that we are destroying and that was here before us, can't really call it ours.

I'm one year away from getting out of here and I don't plan on coming back, this country has nothing to offer for me.

If we're talking about the UK, no. I hate the majority of it, the road and rail infrastructure, corrupt politicians, the weather, London, government and I could go on.

If we're talking about the county of Yorkshire then yes, I like it. The landscape is some of the finest in the world, most of the people are friendly, our notable accent, our exports, Yorkshire puddings, pubs etc.

I am in no way proud to be British, sometimes I feel this country is a disgrace but I'm proud to be a Yorkshireman, if there was ever a Yorkshire independence vote, I'm out.

South African here. It's the only country that I can be proud and ashamed of at the same time. It's always one step forward and two steps back. It's been like that ever since the ruling president came into power. Our people digest nonsense that is being fed to us by the media, and can't think for ourselves. Everything costs money. Graduates (like me) are unemployed, (yes, that job had nothing to do with my studies) because of the risible economic climate here, and our people no doubt still feeling the sting of apartheid.

The only thing that I am proud of, is our sports accomplishments, and our scenery in certain places. That's it.

But enough about the UK, what about South Africa?

I love my country and think it's one of the best, if not the best, places in the world to live. Having just spent the better part of two weeks in Switzerland and Lichtenstein, I can honestly say, for the first time, someone out there might be doing things better than we are:cheers:

What happened if you put religion on top of everything, including common sense and humanity?

You get this place boy.

Yes, living here is like being on a holiday you never knew you where on untill you come back from another country.

Maybe I should go overseas sometime and and hopefully experience the same thing

It's a big bad world out there lol.

Everything is slow motion and relaxed here in comparison.

Plus your country is too damn hot lol.

You Australian's truly are lucky to live there, it really is a wonderful place. As my best friend (who is from Melbourne, but has spent half her life outside of the country) always says to me, being Australian is like being part of an exclusive club far away from everyone else where everyone is just so laid back. The overall culture and attitude in the country is so relaxing, especially for me coming from one of the most tense, uptight and densely populated states in the U.S.

I absolutely love mine. Aside from Rome and Japan, there's actually nowhere else I want to go. Everything I like is here.

After all this time.

Nope. Not really. I kinda hate the government, though.

Lets see if the more stable Kuala Lumpur get.

If it was UAE and something like Dubai then sure, i will definitely be proud of it easily especially with all the good stuff they seems to enjoy. Sadly i live in a much crapper and embarrassing place to be from. Like how do you like and be proud of a country where no one even knows it or often compared to Saudi Arabia and North Korea by everyone else? :guilty:

I mean at the moment, this is a far safer place than plenty of places around the world. Crime rate is lower than some more 1st world countries. We have much more freedom compared to Saudi Arabia which's why every weekend, thousands of them visit our country. We aren't exactly that rich compared to the rest of the GCC countries like UAE and Qatar but not that poor compared to Jordan or Egypt. You got the community who's much nicer to me than anywhere else on the world *cough* Racism, Bigots...etc.

I like my country? Somewhat yes.
Do i feel proud of it? Nope, not at all.

No I hate it here in "Great" Britain. Full of Chavs & wannabe Gangstas all trying to be someone they're not. They wouldn't last 2 mins in America. Britain is not what it use to be in the before the 90's and I wasn't even born in the 90's! Sweets are also boring here. A lot of the best sweets they got rid of.

But I do love the country sides, people with better class & respect. Lovely places to be. Not to mention the Fish & Chip shops over here. Lush, very lush. I'm more of an old fashioned type of guy, even though I was born in 2000.

No, I do not like the United States that much. This country is heralded as "the world leader", yet it fails so many people within it.
