Do you want cruise control in GT5

I just thing it would be a cool edition, just like the proper working handbrake was.

As weird as it sounds, I often like to cruise around the ring at a steady speed. :D

You can cruise pretty effectively driving as you would in the city or highway, that is keeping the revs low, you can put your foot down and keep a desired speed rather easily.

I do this on lazy days or cruising around Toscana or Cote Dazur.

The lego rig is clever if you want to take advantage of that Make Money Fast INDY in an X1 cheat.

Wow this thread got more attention than i thought. I think that PD should implement cruise control because if they want to create "the real driving simulator", then they have to implement realistic features (turn signals, cruise control, realistic damage, etc.). that would make it a more realistic racing game in my opinion.

Why not just put a weight on the pedal?

you can't put something with enough weight on the g27's pedals without it pushing down another pedal :/

thanks for all the feedback everyone!!

I can see this being useful even with racing. I know most of the time in online racing the start grid is all messed up and doesn't seem to be based on qualifying laps at all, so we end up spending a lap getting into the right order and then puttering around the track, when we complete that lap the race begins. Cruise control would definitely make that first lap more organized host would just have to say "set cruise control to X mph" and then you just get around the course that way rather than constantly trying to hold a low speed, hoping you're not messing up the person behind, and getting messed up by the person in front.

Blinkers would also be extremely useful in races as well.

True that! Live for Speed has blinkers and I use them constantly when ever there's a blue flag or something else. Makes it a lot easier for the other guy to pass if you tell them in advance where you're going to go.
