New 12 episode series with the Christmas special (currently being filmed) starts on Saturday at 7.50pm.

What hell. The Doctor... perhaps kill someone?! Capaldi certainly has a more intense stronger personality... And Capaldi's Doctor is 2,000 years old did he say? Or did I mishear that? And Matt Smith from Trenzalore... wow that was a surprise...

New Doctor appears much darker for sure, but also more emotionally soft and self-aware of his current state..

WAIT. IS THAT A DIFFERENT RIVER? Or am I totally losing it???

His new character is very interesting, and I can't wait to see how it develops over the series.

And I agree with you Furi, that has to be River, though she ran out of regenerations? Odd.

I think that Heaven is going to be a running theme throughout the series. The Doctor knew that he should have died at the end of Smith's run, but was robbed of his right to die by the time lords when they gave him his additional regenerations. So a possible theme to this series could be that the Doctor, not all of the people who he encountered, is seeking Heaven so that he could rest in a permanent sense, but is just coming up just short of dying.

I put my thoughts in a spoiler because I'm afraid that I'm actually right.

Thought it was a good episode but it was a bit predictable and I get why the Daleks are iconic but the are not scary to me at all..

So I don't know if you guys have heard but when Strictly starts proper next weekend Dr Who will be moved to a later time of 8.30pm to make room for it from next weekend onwards....which is really late for Dr Who!...

I can't watch it. I know Capaldi too well as Malcolm Tucker and it would just be wrong. Plus I'm not really a sci-fi fan.

Good to see the general consensus is positive though, he deserves recognition

So we are nearing the end of this series with just two episodes left, first of a two part finale will be on Saturday, for me this has been a very enjoyable series, only bad episode I thought was the one about them robbing that bank, but apart form that its been first class 👍
