Until they get that big name indie person and decide to have them debut on NXT with it to raise their profile from the get-go, then they just carry it around for the better part of the year as a hood ornament until no one really cares.

Not that this is exactly a new phenomenon, but it tends to be rather boring when new talent comes in and their first storyline is "I want to trade up for a nicer looking championship than the one I've already got".
I actually can't remember the last time that happened in WWE, NXT call ups only happen when they already drop the belt nowadays instead of the beginning where they are still Champion.

Still better than the reverse, when they made Dean Ambrose Intercontinental Champion at the end of 2016 just cause he finished his losing feud with AJ Styles over the WWE Championship and gave him the IC Title as a consolation prize completing screwing over The Miz work for the title in the first place

Ricky Starks name in WWE is 'Ricky Saints'.

As well as The Hardys TNA X Division champ Moose also showed up on NXT last night.

Taro Okada could do the funniest thing here and have the three sisters all leave Path of Thunder as champions

  • Miyu Amasaki (c) vs. Hinafor the Future of Stardom Championship
(both her sisters have held it as well)

  • wing★gori (Hanan and Saya Iida) (c) vs. Crazy Star (Mei Seira and Suzu Suzuki) for the Goddesses of Stardom Championship

  • Starlight Kid (c) vs. Rina for the Wonder of Stardom Championship
(Rina would become the youngest Wonder of Stardom Champion, beating out HATE stablemate Momo Watanabe by a total of four days; 18 years and 58 days for Rina v.s 18 years and 62 days for Momo)
Rest of the card here, can't wait for Mayu Iwatani to break from her usual babyface antics and be a true jerk when she has to wrestle rookies

The Rock will be on Smackdown tonight and it will be the Final Boss version and not the corporate version we saw on the Raw Netflix debut.

No idea what he will say but I think its almost certain that it will have WrestleMania implications, The Rock was not scheduled to appear at Mania originally.

Tonight's show has been switched around a bit since the news broke that he would appear.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has posted about The Rock and Cody segment.

It was both weird and intriguing in equal measure, The Rock saying to Cody that he wants to be his champion and that he wants his soul, Rock was also gushing with praise for Cody saying that the became friends following Mania last year and that their moms became friends, the segment was a bit repetitive but it was good and there are quite a few possibilities from this.

The Rock will be at Elimination Chamber to get Cody's answer so will Cody accept and effectively turn heel or does he turn it down and Rock has to find someone else?

I didn't sign up for the feel trip with Kyoko and Rina (for context, Kyoko is the mom of the late Hana Kimura and Rina was one of Hana's trainees, with Path of Thunder being her highest profile match to date)

I'm really liking Penta and Ludwig Kaiser at the moment, in-ring and from BTS/interviews (Penta with Sheamus on Celtic Warrior Workouts was fantastic) . Much more interesting than the main eventers.

After that segment with Rhodes and Seth. Ignoring the fact Cody Rhodes sounds like your ex who love bringing up irrelevant past moments to win an argument . If The Rock set up is to turn him heel, I think Seth Rollins would be the best choice to win the Chamber.

Seth Rollins sacrificing everything including his World Heavyweight Championship at last years Wrestlemania to help Cody defeat The Bloodline only for Cody Rhodes to become the thing Seth Rollins is trying to put down after his own past mistakes 10 years ago on top of it would make for such a compelling story.

But it isn't gonna happen, John Cena is the only option for them

I think that if its not Cody it will be CM Punk.

Here is the card for WWE Elimination Chamber tonight.

Unsanctioned Match.
Sami Zayn v Kevin Owens

Tiffany Stratton & Trish Stratus v Nia Jax & Candice La Rae.

Women's Elimination Chamber Match.
Bayley, Naomi, Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair & Alexa Bliss

Men's Elimination Chamber Match.
CM Punk, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Damien Priest & Logan Paul

Cody Rhodes and The Rock Segment.

-----------------------------------------------

The Rock ramped up the emotional manipulation on Cody last night when he got him a nice dressing room with food and wine laid out and later he gifted Cody a pick up truck with Cody's logo on it, he also left a video message to Cody as he was boarding his private jet to Toronto when he had a weight belt with 'Cody's Soul' and the date 'June 11th 2015' on it. Its the date Dusty Rhodes died. I'm loving this version of The Rock so far!

Cody was getting advice from a few people last night too including CM Punk who said he should take The Rock's offer turn it sideways, shine it up nice and shove it up his part-time Hollywood ass!

What do you guys think will happen tonight, I have no clue about Cody's answer but I think the men's chamber match will tie in to it, I think either Punk or Cena will win the chamber match, the women's chamber match does feel like an afterthought sadly but I'd be surprised if Bianca Belair doesn't win it.

Cena's run as a heel is going to be nothing but generational. I loudly gasped at my screen when he kicked Cody and literally sat there with my mouth wide open through the rest of the segment.

What a freaking PLE that was.

I will admit as someone who has been critical a lot, I was genuinely impressed by the whole ordeal. Best Elimination Chamber since 2010, actually captures what made 2009 No Way Out and 2010 Elimination Chamber compelling which is final swerves for the Wrestlemania stories to truly begin.

Bianca Belair winning the Womens was a surprise and makes me wonder how the World Womens Title is going to be intertwined with the Jade Cargill and Naomi saga.

Kevin Owens actually WON A MATCH? Biggest wrestling swerve! It was a really good match too was surprised Randy didnt cost Owens the match but interfered after but I'm not against the idea since it allowed Kevin Owens to get a win for once

Then the Mens, admittedly, it played out very predictably and even a little lackluster due to no story shinanegons other than Drew losing his 🤬 at Damien Priest. However, it did catch my curiousity with the ending, now my Bloodline PTSD is kicking in and saying John Cena turning heel doesnt actually change any of the writing problems that may occur with this storyline (it is still just another Cena World Title main event nostalgia act at the end of the day) but I am curious to find out what happens next.

Oh joy, a Wrestlemania all about the part-time egomaniacs.

At least evil John should be more interesting than the meme pulling goofy faces that we’ve had to this point.

That closing segment last night man, Holy Cow!

I had no idea what was going to happen going into the men's chamber match but when Cena won it I just knew it was going to happen, I knew the heel turn was coming but it didn't make any less shocking, my prediction is that Cena will win the title at Mania and get his 17th world title reign but the next few weeks will be interesting, we still have 48 days until Mania.

Anyone else think that Travis Scott being there was weird? He didn't really do anything, why was he there? It almost ruined it for me.

I thought the women's chamber match was really good and arguably better than the men's, Liv Morgan was excellent and she took most of the big spots and bumps, Jade returning and attacking Naomi was well done, Bianca winning was a bit predictable but it will set up a great match between her and Rhea for the title or maybe a triple threat with IYO also involved.

The men's chamber match was good and it had its moments, I wasn't sure about Drew getting pinned like that, I'm getting a bit bored of his 'blaming everyone else but himself for his problems' stuff, it'll probably set up a match between him and Priest but that's it, Rollins stomping Punk after Seth was eliminated is interesting, there was some talking of a triple threat between Rollins, Punk and Reigns at Mania after what happened when they all got eliminated from the Rumble match so maybe that will happen, I don't really know what Logan Paul is doing at Mania and I don't really care.

Sami v KO was brutal as expected and I liked the presentation of the match with the lights down, Owens got the win that he badly needed and Orton's return was great. the women's tag match was okay and was only really there for Trish so she could wrestle with her kids in the crowd for the first time, it just filled some time before Tiffy v Charlotte at Mania.

I think the thing I do fear is Cena winning the title. It so short sighted for "OMG 17 Time Champion" moment but the title reign itself is going to be rubbish with his part time schedule causing long term damage again. Which is part of my Bloodline PTSD.

One positive is R-Truths going through some 🤬 now seeing his childhood hero behave like that

Add to your fears the possibility Def Rebel (beep)s up Cena’s theme by making it another generic thing instead of Dr. Thuganomics or his unused heel theme…

I haven't had the chance to watch the Elimination Chamber yet but I did find out the results. Not surprised by Cena's heel turn as a face vs. face Wrestlemania match can be okay if done right but it is much easier to do than the former. I am hoping that Cody Rhodes wins but we'll see how it plays out. My children are going to love seeing Jade Cargill jump Naomi so I can't wait to watch it.

AEW's PPV this weekend has a good looking card (Ambrose Moxley vs Edge Copeland, MJF vs Page, Take****a/Omega, etc) but it's annoyingly expensive compared to WWE now included on Netflix, and I've had mixed reports about the streamer they are on in Europe.

Recently I've been prefering their content and TNA's. A bit more action and less overblown promos/intrusive sponsorship/celeb cameos that is the current WWE product.

ADD - the expletive filter here is being a bit aggresive if it's censoring a name now,

So Raw tonight is pretty big with three title matches.

Women's Intercontinental title.
Lyra Valkyria (c) v Ivy Nile

World Tag Team titles.
War Raiders (c) v The Creed Brothers

Women's World title.
Rhea Ripley (c) v IYO Sky

There will also be appearance from Gunther, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. Plus all the fallout from Saturday.

It will be the third time that Rhea and IYO have fought one on one in WWE but the first on the main roster, they fought in NXT for their women's title and on the Mae Young classic tournament back in 2018.

John Cena is still posting inspirational quotes and memes on his socials, whilst R-Truth is having a melt down on his!
