None.
What do you think? I personally really enjoyed events like Grand Tour and the Vettel Challenge. They felt like something fresh and like a break from the standard racing. Would you like to see similar in GT6?

Why not? Single player is crying out for more events, and more specials will be a great way to keep it alive.

I must add that I'd prefer to have a propper a-spec mode with championships, regional races, career (no story, just a decent progression), etc instead.

I clicked yes, but to be honest, they shouldn't be called special events they should just be a part of the campaign

Meh. I didn't really play them. I only played the Top Gear one for the XFR and the Tour for the Phototravel locations.

If they make special events consist only of special events (where karting and rallying would go in A/B-Spec modes, NASCAR school and AMG Academy as some kind of specialised license), such as Top Gear Challenge, Grand Tour, driver faceoff/challenges e.g. the Loeb/Vettel challenges or GT4-esque Driving Missions, then yes 👍

What the game need is a decent a-spec carear mode.
Starting with karts and finishing at the top of gt1,dtm,etc...
I agree with decent special events.
A decent rally championship.
A decent le mans series carear.
These game have potencial to do it.

This. This is it.

If they are well integrated, yes. I wish they could've expanded upon the events, especially Karting, Top Gear, and Nascar - I was having fun with them, and then they just sort of stopped. I feel like more could've been done with the assets they had... But PD didn't do much.

Tbh GT5's Special Events were average; karting and rallying should have been a series of A/B-Spec series/events instead of a special event and the Top Gear event lacked depth (especially compared to the AMG Driving Academy event, which was good). The Grand tour, Gordon and Loeb challenges were alright, and the Vettel challenge was hardcore.

For the 'special events' in GT6, I would like to see the return of the Mission Hall events from GT4-they were truly epic

The only functional difference for a lot of the Special Events is that you couldn't do them more than once, so no. Integrate them in A-Spec.

No. A-spec races and a good online service with official online events is well enough for me.

Also, I don't want any real world racing driver appearances, other than their racing suits and cars. The Jeff Gordon events especially was a joke.

Well, this has been the dream of everyone I think, everyone except Kaz... :P

No. I would rather see PD adding variety by incorporating features like qualifying into regular events, and being a bit more creative with the A-Spec categories. Events that have followed the same format for several iterations of GT games feel pretty stale and overly familiar when the AI still offers no challenge (Sunday Cup at Autumn Ring Mini is the most immediate example of this).

Special events for the most part seem to be where PD puts all their driver features (Vettel/Loeb/Gordon) which really don't have much purpose as far as racing goes. If these features remain in GT6 I would just put them into the License menu, since these features were just time trials anyway - no different to the challenge that license tests offer. For me it would just be streamlining the menu.

No. It's best if there wasn't any special events. Why not just have them in A-Spec events rather separating?

This. couldn't agree with you more

To me the career mode would have 10 series each one with 50 championships
like Amateur-1, Amateur-2, Amateur-3, professional-1, professional-2, professional-3, rally special, Racing-1, Racing-2, Racing-3. The special events would be inserted in the series like karting in amateur-1 with a championship of 3 or 4 races

Only if they are done well. And I'd say none of the special events in GT5 were done well at all.

Using the Senna partnership as an example, there's a lot that could go right or wrong and it really depends on how PD approaches it. We're all hoping for a mode like NBA 2K13's Jordan Challenge or Madden Moments, where the player is placed in key points and races over the course of Senna's career. You start in karts, and then as you move up through various disciplines you attempt to recreate Senna's greatest achievements, like Donington '93 and Brazil '91. The catch is, it will only be possible if Sony/PD puts effort in to secure rights to the teams and drivers of the era. And then of course, they'll need to model each of those cars and circuits. And suddenly, something that began as a great idea in theory becomes a massive undertaking that PD doesn't feel compelled to devote the proper amount of time and energy to. If they don't plan on seeing it through to the end, then I wish they wouldn't bother in the first place.

"We're all hoping for..." How can you say that? I'm definitely not hoping for any of the stuff you mentioned! I wanna play as myself, not as Senna (or any other driver for that matter)

I think this whole "Life of Senna" idea sounds like total crap to be honest, and something that will bring Gran Turismo even further away from what it once was. Kazunori is on some mighty thin ice if you ask me.

I don't really care about Senna either.

 Good joke!

Not going to happen.

You're missing the point.

Read the second half of my post again. What I'm saying is, there are good ideas in theory that don't come to fruition because PD lacks the time/interest to see the project through to completion. This is how you end up with the half-hearted implementation of the Top Gear license in GT5. Or Gran Turismo Rally. Or the whole standard car problem. That's GT5 in a nutshell; a functionally incomplete game, and the special events are a perfect example of that.
