I've seen one and one only. It was parked at Meijers (grocery store). It was the real thing or someone put the badage on a normal one.

Near where I live is a VW corperate office so they get all the nice VW's.

I'll have to look for one of them. I'll take a ride over to the VW office tommarrow.

I still don't understand anyone who'd buy a luxury SUV. :P I see the W8 somewhere between a Mercedes C430 (if such a thing existed) and a 330xi.

Okay, okay - I've seen you go off on luxury SUV's for long enough. Tell me - I want luxury and I want something big and with room for cargo. What am I supposed to get!?!??!

An X5. :P I don't know. Maybe deep down inside, I'm just jealous. On the surface, though, most SUV's need better drivers. Oh, and I can't see over them in heavy traffic. I like relying on the brake lights of the next three or four cars. But maybe I'm jealous. Maybe. :P

This is a mid-size car unlike anything else on the road, where you can cet a 8-cylinder car for under $40,000? This engine is unique because it impossible to put a conventional V8 engine into a car like this. The engine is made by two V4 cylindrical modules, so instead of a conventional V8 that the V-shape cylinders is aligned on one side in another (ex. -- -- -- --, each the two dotted line reprsents the four cylinders on one side of a V-type engine), the W8 uses a narrow configuration to fit all eight cylinders in the vehicle which resulted into a 'zig-zag' pattern on each side (ex. -- _ -- _), which resulted a space saver under the engine compartment although according the picture on top looks like the engine is a tight squeeze.

The best thing about a W8 is that I call it a "Low Profile Luxury Vehicle", which is good on my taste. And its a lightweight for a V8 powered sedan although its a little bit underpowered for V8 standards. The 4Motion is included in the W8 as a standard feature, great! V8 with 4WD is a perfect combination (you can get an A6 or an A8 for thousands more). The benefits of the W8 is that its the smoothest car that you can buy without spending more $$$$$$. The W8 is already out in US last month and the MSRP is around $40,000.

My choise will be W8 4Motion Passat Wagon.
Super Versatile.
