Dont U Hate It When Ur Accecent Is Made Fun Of?

during the cali govenor election. GoV. Gray Davis was makin fun of GoV. ARNOLD aka the "terminator" . he was arguing that arnold cant say "CALIFORNIA" right. and gray says that he shouldnt deserve to be govenor because he doesnt no how to pronounce califoornia right. THAT IS A STUPID REASON WHY HESHOULDN'T BE ELECTED!!:banghead:

But there's other reasons he shouldn't have been elected right? I didn't follow Cali's elections because I live far enough away from there that it wouldn't matter at all to me.

But yes, I hate when people say that the accent is what makes you stupid...unless you grew up in texas (like me) and know that almost everyone with that accent is in fact stupid because they're over the top hillbillies.

Also, i'd suggest you correct the spelling and grammar before somebody else responds to you. There's more than a few people on this forum that will ride you hard for that reason alone.

Try being Australian, and listen to the tortured attempts at Aussie accents. Leno's about the only American I've heard get close. There's an Irish comedian (Ed Byrnes) who's got it down pat - that's about it.

The Simpons in Australi episode - very funny, but the accents weren't close (yeah, that was part of the joke, I know...).

I have no accent. When i moved to Canada, everybody expected me to have the traditional Texas accent which i didn't have despite having spent a good 10 years of my life living in Texas. It's Soooooooooooooo funny and annoying speaking in "brown" though. It annoys the hell out of my sister when my brother and I try to talk like the stereotypical 7-11 owner 👍

My dad doesn't intentionally do this, but whenever he gets near someone with a different accent he imitates it. And, well, he is plainly the worst at making some other accent sound correct. I hate it when he slaughters accents like that.

I would worry about your grammar first.;)

I speak Canadian english. If someone mocks me for my accent they will get a hockey stick in the teeth and a pan full of hot bacon thrown at them.

Then we will go to Tim Horton's and talk aboot the weather eh.

funny that

i saw him at the zoo he owns up the coast. he still acts the same

but did u hear that he rescued some diver from sharks or drowning or something like that (i think it was sharks) when he was filming his show? damn

i hate when people expect u to have a silly accent like the ones on tv just because your canadian.i talk like a normal person.i've met a lot of people from america and i talk exactly like them(except i say eh a lot).

im filipino and there is a stereotype that all filipino ppl have a real rough accecnt. They call us FOBs ( fresh of the boat) . like if a regular person says " very funny" . they say "berry punnie" with the tongue roll on berry. o well just wanted to say:odd:

Hmmm, I don't really have much of an accent to speak of... As I've said before, I say "like" quite often IRL, due to California culture, but otherwise, no real accent.

There's this British kid who sits next to me in Chemistry though, and he's got the coolest accent! :D And he has all of the native sayings, like "Cheerios!" (I have no clue if I spelled that as it should be).

Some accents facinate me. Like South Africa's. I get too engrossed in the accent and don't pay attention to what they're saying. I think it's because it is so unlike any other one; it is singular. Scottish is like some English. Austrian is like German. Asian accents are similar, Middle East, etc. But South African is unique. I like it.

I used to have a Mid-Western accent. Several years in the West has washed it mostly away. Now I can hear it in others clear as a bell. It does sound very bourgeois.

Try being an American and having everyone else on the planet think 280 million of us all wear 10-gallon hats and pointy boots and talk like we're from East Texas.

Well, he did end up President.

Point taken, but it goes back farther than that by far. Farther back than Dangermouse, even.

Shouldn't you be feeding your koala, anyway?

Except that he's from Connecticut and doesn't even know how to ride a horse.

And yes, I hate it when my Accent is made fun of. I couldn't afford anything else!

Been there, done that...well - @ least people here thought everyone from Texas fit that mold. It was annoying as hell after i moved to canada...morons asking me why I had no accent or if i ever went to rodeos *shudders at the thought*. Then, they made fun of me saying that I secretly did. All 3 of them got beaten to a bloody pulp after they said a few things that were too damn personal. Now, they're ok about it. I'm a bit crazy and very forwards when it comes to many things in comparison to most Canadians but umm, that's just partly my personality and partly the friends i grew up with.
