Drag Racing

Me and my friends like to do 1000 meter drag races on the test courses and i would like to see which car you guys think is the best for the 1000 meter run (acceleration is the key)
So far i think a modified supra with a really low gear ratio is the best choice What do you guys think?

suzuki escudo, but that's like cheating. the [R]HKS R33 Drag GT-R and the [R]HKS Drag 180SX are good fast cars to use. in the 1000 m thought it always isn't acceleration like it is in the quarter mile.

(regarding the first post) I think supras are cool, in fact they are my second favorite car, but in GT2 they totally underestimated their power, buz a fully tuned supra in real life with 741 HP would be far faster in the quater mile than 12 odd seconds, it pisses me off :gnasher: But for 1000m i guess it aint so bad....I personally like Subaru Impreza's, but my fav is still my civ :r: . :honda: 4 LIFE!!

The fasted car I've got in the 1000M is the R390 Road Version '97, the red one. Runs a 15.something seconds. Much faster than the overpowered and undergriped HKS 180SX & R33. Tourque is the key in drag races, that's what snaps you off the line and breaks you neck for the first 1/8th mile (or at least 60ft). After that, the HP takes over and pushes you to the traps.

How do you manage a 12sec 1/4 in the Supra??? Even with a high auto-set I still run low 10's.

Try droping your final drive ratio a bit, and removing ALL downforce on the car. Just removing the dowforce drops ~4/10's.

My supra RZ without racing modification hit's in the mod 11's. My Cdma ONE Supra GT hits 10.3's to 10.4's with good launch.

I ran a 10.8 with the New Beetle with racing mods. Pulls pretty hard for a 2.0L.

the ruf, i forget which one, i know it was the second most expensive, i modded all the way with everything, and with the normal gear ratios and no low downforce i run mid 9's. try that, its the fastest drag car i have by far, AND it turns like no other. its also 4WD

I know the Escudo is a big cheat for the 1/4 mile but IM almost down to a 8.00 seconds flat with it. Without looking at my records think 8.21 is the E.T. right now.

Cool man 8.2, funny is my time was with 60% downforce front and rear I had it set for rallying and forgot to take it down so im taking a wild guess that with it lowered I should hit high 8.1's. Soon as I try will post it.

the fastest i ever got the Escudo Pike's Peak Ver. was 8.028 in the 0-400m. i could not get it to go any quicker.

Damn I been wanting to get a car to 8 flat. I can still try and if by some good grace I do you'll see it in here. Also is their any way to get the HKS 180 and GT-ONE road version to hook up any better? Cause they got the top end I just cant get the traction for the launch.

about the supra thing, i screwed up. i meant to say elevens without ****ing around with the grears and **** like that, but still, 650HP in a Supra in real life is faster than 11 flat, and 750 in GT2 is barely fast enough, not to mention the real supra used street tires. you have to admit, just about all rwd's are too slow in GT2...heck even front drivers get better trac off the line and that is just wrong!!!

oh by the way i did 8.0xx, i forget the rest but i didnt even spend much time with the escudo, that thing pisses me off, i cant stand it...its like a big oaf with a ****ing obnoxious wing.....it just doesnt look right on pavement. but thats just my opinion
