DRIFT_shift movie

Okay, now for the real deal (I was at school in the earlier post, and I didn't want to get caught :D):

I noticed in the drifts that the countersteering was very choppy. Whoever the driver was: improve those drifts by trying to keep the countersteering constant instead of countersteering only when needed. It just makes the drift look really weird :odd: This was on most of the cars, and the decoding looked like it came from one person, so I am assuming that only one driver was in the video. Also, try to link some drifts together instead of only showing one drift and then moving onto the next. Try to link two or more turns together. Other than that, the video was okay.

I have a question for whoever the driver was: How did you deal with the turbo lag on the Skylines? Did you use Super Softs to cope with the sudden jolt of power?

Well, first of all, I was using a controller.......not much I can do about that right now. I also used SIMs on all fours. Dealing with the lag was a matter of keeping up the revs. I just applied what I do in grip racing......."Goosing the Accelerator!!!" :sly:
The only way to do it is to keep the gearing low and tap the Accelerator button repeatedly thru a corner.......it's a B****, but it works.
Yeah, there was only one driver.....(myself)...and I haven't been drifting all that long. I figured it would be a combination of grip and rally racing......but only to discover there's much more to it than that. I'm still developing my own style, and judging by the comments recieved from this thread, it still needs some work.

Thanx for the tips, and I'll keep up the practice!!!!

Hey very nice video, if you can control your accelerator and keep it side ways, then its going to be more good. I use the controller also, i learn how to keep my drifts clean, but yes it does takes time and a lot of patients, Keep it up and next time, you'll have some good drifts to show off.

Thanx Layzee.......I was going to get around to it later tonight after my son went to bed. He's been sick lately, and I haven't had the time to do much. I owe you one!!!! :sly:

Nice job, but as for the quality deal.
You need to try and show more of a drift, in meaning, you need more hp or slicker tires so you can be more consistant with a more sideways drift. This will also help control your understeer.

Thanx. I'm currently working on controlling my sideways action and countersteer. I just got a tip and settings for a 240sx Fastback......and I'm lovin' it!!!!!! Be on the lookout for it in my next vid!!!!:sly:
