DrifTa-AJV
Friday the 8th Of April myself and Vans will have a battle 1on1 no teams involved Fuji D1 Style
This battle will be a public vote as i cant be bothered to arrange a suitable judge and im am going to post a you tube clip of D1 judging criteria for you guys to base your votes off.

@ VansOffTheWall
Dont worry about posting a video of the battle i have a capture card and can get better quality.

Since you picked the track im gonna lay down some rules.

1. Overtaking is legal as long as the lead car loses their line or runs wide IT MUST BE A CLEAN PASS that means if theres no opening dont bother attacking any tapping or bumping that effects the lead cars drift is an Instant 0

2. No RE_RUNS 1st 2 runs only(Except OMT)

3. COMFORT HARD TYRES ONLY

I think these terms are fair and if any one disagrees please feel free to have an opinion.

Ok so heres the replay of our battle we ran 3 battles so i guess best of 3 sorry for the crap footage my computer is playing up so this was the best quality i could get with my capture card HAPPY VOTING
Vans feel free to post up your replay if you can get better quality

I must say, that is THE perfect video to show what is expected for those tracks. I gotta emphasize that the lines shown each video is what makes the tracks somewhat difficult and more than what they simply are. Alot of ppl keep going tooo shallow and think they have the right line. Even though proximity to the chaser is key factor in tandem, following the proper line and getting the correct clipping points are also what is important.

Good luck to both.

Are people actually able to vote yet? I was almost tempted to just then but then thought I would be considered bias. :dunce:

EDIT: I'm so tempted to vote already.

I actually found that video

Judges that don't know what they are doing should really look at that d1 video you posted up.

Great video to teach people how to judge correctly.

HAHA, yeah people should try that. Like what do you judge by zedfonsie? (Not insulting or nothing just asking)

lines angle speed and clipping points.

But I care most about is your lines and clipping points:)

I havnt seen 1 gtp battle that defines clipping points so therefore how can you judge the points.
Most people on here judge by line speed tandem
This is the first battle I know of that defines clipping zones as explained in the video and this what the battle should be judged on if both of us are able to hit these zones then the other factors should come into it as in more angle more speed actual line to the zones

So the judging criteria on this battle should be

Early initiation of drift on first corner
Not to drift wide on first corner should atleast be in the middle of the track.
To be wide on the second long corner rear tyre is allowed to touch rumble strip.
To hit the apex of the 3rd and last corner and drifting out to touch the outside rumble strip under the post

Theese are things that need to be judged properly and should make judging easy and no arguing
Speed angle and distance should be judged second to this criteria

Thats horrible to judge by, the main thing to judge by in tandem is how close they are to the lead car. Thats is the whole point of tandem, but you do have to judge also by line & if they mess up, or go out of bounds.

If they have a faster car, then of course they are going to win the "speed" part of your judging.

Wrong if the main part of tandem battles is to judge the follower and how close they are how do you judge the lead car

Why would tsuchiya make such technical courses if the main priority is to judge the follower
The main concept of d1 is to meet the criteria set by the judges
The tandem battle was introduced to drifting to make it more exciting not saying that tandem isn't part of the criteria but just saying it is only a partial part and not the main.

The only battles that are decided by distance being the main factor are cat and mouse( InitialD style) which is more of a drift race the winner is determined by the gap of the lead car and follower and not by line or style

Like i said, if you watch D1GP, if someone is like 1 mile away and have a better line & don't mess up at all, they still will lose.
