wrecking your vehicle? How are you gunna do that? It hard on your brakes and suspension but other than that. Well I guess you could lose control and slide in to a tree or something

Well see I want to start but there is a little problem.

My car is FWD so I really can't

I found a website way back in the day that gave drifting tips for all different drivetrains. FWD, RWD, AWD. FWD wasn't just e-brake drifting either. I realy wish I still had the damn link.:nervous:

If you ever do start trying to drift, be as careful as possible.:(

Anyhoo, I seriously doubt anyone who drifts(not just a little wimpy powerslide around a street corner) has seriously wrecked at least one car.

its disguisting because your a streetracer discussing drifting. you have no taste. you do whatever you see mentioned in gay import magazines (super street etc). you will modify the trends out of japan to be disguisting to the true drifters. youll be drifting a civic or have a hotpink 240sx with clear taillights.

all of this will disrespect ppl with their own taste. no way to be original because magazines are showing gayified trends to the general public that will grow exponentially. ill be driving down the street in my pride and joy and some dumb teenager will be driving the same car, except it will be hotpink gayified and all and say "yaaaaaay, im a drifter man woohoo, lookat mee!"

i think the only shield from this happening is that they will all kill themselves because they have no skills. or they will have no guts to try it. oh wait, so then they will just drive around in their "drifterized" cars, posing as drifters but just being streetracing morons.

my bro did all kinds of parking brake drifts in his '87 626...man in the rain one time, he went down our main road here(well the road that my street is off of)and it curves slightly, so he just pulls the parking brake up, and attepts to go around the turn at about 40mph, and we were going sideways all the way around the corner...

those were the days when he didn't care about his cars...

now that im cooled, all i can say is buy a different car :) or try with someone elses.

EDIT: or go for some ass-dragging. which is fun but will get boring quick. its just not the same

uh dude chill out. I tried in a parking lot. No road involved. It takes a lot of skill to drift right. I bet you couldn't keep your car in a non e brake drift. And If you can and prove it to me I will send you $1000.

I'll look for that sight Josh. Your probaly right too. I guess most people have wreaked that tries it on the street.

Well I can drift my R/C car but I'm still not a drifter.

I tried to day in a vacent lot to drift. Big mistake. I spun the ass end around pretty good. I guess FWD isn't really the way to go. I just pulled the e brake and the ass got really happy

I've drifted on my bike several times...there's this bank that I ride up to a lot, thier parking lot has several speed bumps and other fun stuff. But thier entrance(of the building) is made of this slick marble outside the doors...when it gets wet, you can drift all the way across it. My bro managed a donut once(by pedalling) without falling...very funny, but he never could do that again...

Just find a slick surface, go about 5mph across it, and then pedal hard and swing the back end out...my bro was able to get his to swing all the way around, but then he fell...

I think drifting is an art and must be mastered.
Oh and I thought the article and pictures in the superstreet magazine were the tits. :D Nothing like seeing Sylvias, Skylines, and Truenos all doing the opposite lock on the track.
It should be kept at the track or preapproved course and drifting on the street is not like racing. There are so many more variables to drifting and on the street, its not a controlled environment.
Anyone notice the hottest drift machines are rwd??
This is a great gayified topic and thread.

I know they are all RWD but I want to try it and get it down but the problem is I can slide the Eclipse real well. I guess I'll have to break down and buy a RWD. Or I could use our cargo van. But that would be intresting

Streetracer, if the suspension on your car hasnt been modified already, it doesnt take much to make your car more receptive to the drift.
Stiffen it up a bit (thats what she said-lol) on the suspension and watch the fun begin. Add some camber, wowwee.
Lol, am I having fun or what? Its late, sorry.
Whats been done to your suspension??

It's just dropped. Nothing to improve handling just the height. I should just use my friends car, a Miata.

Well, if I can make a suggestion from first hand experience, Id go with a rear swaybar, rear tie bar and subframe brace for the front and possibly the back on your car.
Make sure you get a front and rear strut tower brace and youll be set for the best handling car you can get.
If you want to even better that, get adjustable endlinks (they make thes for your car I believe) and you can adjust your heart out on the car.
Ive got this setup on the 97z and the car is just awesome.
All these suspension mods really firm up the ride and let the suspension really do its job in going after the road.
Total cost for the accessories mentioned should be about 600-800 (U.S.) dollars.

Hmmm...I have the money its just I don't think I'm going to do that on my car. I think I'll get a newer car and do a full suspension over haul
