MrDrift98
Hello :gtpflag:
I am having a problem. For some reason, maybe because I am not confident enough or it's just setup, I cant have a good drifting angel (angle?)
I am supose to be drifting about this in a corner: / (It's supose to be a nice, 50, 60 degree angle.
But I am going something like this
\
.\
..\
...\
....\
Through the whole corner. Direction change is no problem, nor having a long drift. Using cars like BTR, the Amemiya RX-7, Z4 California, Sucderia, NSX. Using Comfort Hard, and on cars with 700+ BHP Comfort Medium:scared:
Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? When I try to push it abit harder I go into understeer, and my G27 is on full lock :banghead::banghead::banghead::mad::mad::mad::yuck::scared::crazy::nervous: :ill::guilty::grumpy::(
I want to do THIS:

But I get around THIS:

Oh look, it's me in the picture :P We wasn't actually like that around the whole corner, the wheel was fully locked over. How long have you been drifting on the wheel? and what is your tuning set-up like?

I am really, really not a tuner, so none. And every kid uses a DS3 so I cant get tunes...
Drifting with a wheel for about a month or so, but I got it fully controlled, maybe a spin out here and there in online rooms (diffrent physics...), but that's it. I just cant pull a big angles drift. Only small ones like the second pic. Btw nice drift! What car were you? If the old Camaro, can you post a tune? If the new Camaro can you post a tune?

I'm in the new Camaro in the 1st picture. I'll post up the tune for you tomorrow when i get back on my PS3. BTW i'm on wheel so it should work better for you :)

Thanks. Yet do you have any advice for my cornering? Also, stay on this forum for a couple of minutes, I am shooting and uploading to youtube so you can see me drifting, maybe you guys (guy -.- ) could see what I am doing wrong

It's just a matter of practice really. Try watching a few real life videos of in-car footage to see how they do it.

I did. Not much help, really. Can you share a technique? Also, do you have a setup for the old Camaro, RM? And is the new camaro RM'ed?
Also, did you tune the car yourself? if so, are you in a drift team? :) Actuely, anyways, are you in a drift team? :)

I've never tuned an old Camaro for drifting, but the new one isn't RM'ed. Just practice, the more you practice the more you will get used to holding more angle, also if your speed drops to low, you won't be able to hold higher angle round the corner.

To be honest with you, your angle isn't bad at all. Like i said before yo ucan't be on max angle all the way round the corner anyway. I think using the RUF may not be helping though, because with the engine in the rear, it's giving you alot of grip which will be making you shallow up you angle more then you would in a front engine RWD car if you're not going fast enough.

Take a look at some of my drifting videos on my youtube, you'll see I don't get the max angle every corner, you need to find the best balance between speed and angle for each corner.

Ever tried to drift a BTR or a YellowBird? It's insane! RR is worse then FR or MR, mate :)
anyways, do you know how to tune drift cars?
EDIT:
What track were you using on the FT-86 concept drift run, and what tune? Also, how did you remapp G27 to have a handbreak?
And what track on 370z, what setings? :D
And RX7? :D:D:):D:):D:D

Nope. I don't like Porsche/RUF so I never brought one, plus I like my FR cars lol. They're all my custom tracks I made. I'll get all the set-ups tomorrow. Also I don't think you can map the G27s buttons. I'm using a ghetto spec rig for my handbrake, with a driving force GT, lol. Something like in this thread.

About half way down with the joystick & controller.

Alright. Send me the setup tomorrow please, add my PSN MrDrift98 I wana drift with you, and if you could share tracks and borrow my RUF to try out ^^

That's my Camaro in the 2nd photo! lol that was actually when i was exiting the drift so it looks like i have bad angle. Try getting a different car or a new suspension setup 👍

It seems your trying to speed drift by going fast with not much angle but I assume you're not purposely doing it. Try 'letting go' a bit more in corners. For example, when you know you're angle is shallow, give it a bit more gas and see how long you can hold the most angle you possibly can.

Alright. You say I should balance more gas? But if the rear kicks out, it will keep kicking out with more gas, no?

Too much throttle = spin out.

Too little = straighten out.

What about low power ae86 drifters?......there's no such thing as too much throttle....lol..on mine its either pedal to the floor or risk snap oversteer..

Well maybe you drift with Sporsts medium or hard, or maybe you're using 100 BHP, but too much throttle will spin you out.
Maybe you're using a DS3 so u can just lock it all the way and have insane angles. But anyway we are talking about wheels, so..:)

Trust me, the non SS AE86 need the throttle mashed and more weight transfer than a fat chick on a roller coaster.

Don't do that here. 👍
