Drifting Fun or Drifting Rage...

It's rare, but I do sometimes find people I am able to drift close behind. I find most of them in the Japanese rooms. Oddly enough, more of them have similar driving styles as mine and use similar cars.

On a few occasions though, I've had a few people who had an overpowered car stick behind me. One guy did for almost an hour. When I tried to let him pass, he'd slow down. He later told me he liked seeing my MR2 drift, haha. :dopey:

I prefer japanese rooms. They show respect and they can adjust speed. Not like most of the european servers... Drifting at tsukuba on european servers with many people is impossible, and most of them are unrestricted.

Im not so in awe of the japanese lobbies, but i do enjoy drifting in them. People are mostly friendly and courteous to one another.

I just cant understand a word they're saying!!

I think, to reach the real fun of the drifting in GT5 some things have to get organised. Tire and car restrictions help avoiding accidents. and if you get a hp limit, you can get very close tandeming as well. Whats more fun than that?
With fun, also goes respect in my opinion. if you can't keep up, or can't do something others can, step out and practise imo.

This!

I enjoy drifting for fun... I like to pop in on other team's drift lobbies and drift with them and get some tandems in with them unless they kick me out... :( I just like to get tandems in now with competent gamers who KNOW how to control their speed, angles, and throttle...

Although I do like a challenge and enjoy competitions but I get really sick of the whining and complaining... In the end this is just a game and the game is supposed to be for fun!!

Lol indeed.

Everyone understands me wrong here lmao, they get mad because I tell the facts. Its about fun and a lot take everything to serious. Competitions are great, but it takes ages to get one moving, so I even don't try anymore. I guess I'll challenge some teams soon to battle with. Not in a competition style, but just 1v1, without other teams.

Everyone is always welcome at our sessions.

BTW rage : a normal day in a random drift lobby : X2010, 4WD, no restrictions. And the worst : They wait till the race gets started lmao, and then they race like its D-Day. I really am going to make a vid about this. Just like CoD super noobs. Thats why I never-ever join a random lobby. Only Japanese lobby's are fun sometimes.

Yea I definitely like drifting with you and your other team members. I like all of your team's drift styles and the car control. Competitions are becoming more of a "job" than a "fun experience" these days.

I still join random lobbies but will quickly vacate if the action is weak or plagued with AWD's. You must be having bad luck with the Japanese lobbies. I tend to get into good one's all the time... Look for SINBA77 (or something like that - I forget the numbers off hand) and go into that lobby. Seriously, I think that person is arguably one of the best drifters in the game!

Today I joined a french lobby.
All the cars were FR so I was glad, then I checked the tires.
Sports hard everywhere and one guy with CS rear SH front...

At least the track wasn't Tsukuba or Autumn ring (it was deep forest).
Stayed here for some time but people were waiting for the race...

Gonales I quoted you and said "this" because I 100% agree with what you said.
As for me I drift for fun, I'm not into competitions (the big ones) but if there's a random comp happening on a room it can be cool.

When I used to play lfs there was mini competitions organized each week, it was nice.

I drift on Gt because I want fun and I can't do it in real life only 13 but I like being reconised for being a decent drifter and my skills still have to improve

Okay thanks. I totally agree with this post as well. To many people on sport or soft tires. And they start acting weird when i politely ask them to change. (Yes, i can be polite :D) I mean, the most fun of drifting ingame comes from tandems, who cares at what speed you're tandeming? Just have fun lol.

Perhaps its been discussed in other topics; but whats the problem with drifting with sport or soft tires? Is the difference in speed during drift that large? Ive never drifted with those tires, but ive never noticed that others are on different tire tipes. (Ok sometimes but then its usually noobs (nothing wrong with that) who just dont know..)

Even when i drift with others that are also on CH's; im usually slower cause my tunes are usually lacking grip in enormous amounts..

Speed, braking points, everything changes because your tires have more grip. It will cause accidents.

The problem is that people drifting with sports can't link corners (because of the tires themselves).
I won't speak for all of the Sport tires user but I can say that the majority don't have a clue what drifting is, they think drift = driving in a corner sideways when it is more of driving sideways as much as you can (understand, linking corners, initiating as soon as possible etc...)
One time I was on a server with another french dude, he was on sports hard, I asked him to change, he said no then started saying I was gay because I had a matte pink FC3S (wow)....

Guys, i drive matte pink cars all the time! :D Who cares? :D (Ps, nothing wrong with being gay)

Yea nothing wrong but whats wrong is people thinking 15th century way pink = gay.
Most of my favorite inspirational drifting cars are pink or have pink in their liveries.

ps : my avatar is pink lol

Even the gap between CH and CM is quite big in terms of speed and grip, and the gap between CH and CS is even greater, but if you can follow a Hachi on CH while youre on CS then more power to you. Ive just yet to see that.

I drift pink and purple cars to elicit emotional responses from homophobes and intellectually shallow individuals. The drawback to this is if I don't hit my lines I look like a douche. PLS ftw +1

I find pink and lavender/purple drift cars nice looking and cool. I have a S13 painted with matte pink and my Esprit has a raspberry red pearl paint. :)

And I find it amusing if someone goes rages about pink coloured cars.

I drift solo and love it. I drift solo cos i have a lack of talent and seem to be much slower than everyone else, also I find my car contol can't maintain a consistent drift well enough for tandem, I'm learning though using a ghost car as a reference

i think drifting is to calm you down, looking cool, chilling and to learn something new. i love drifting and i want to be a drifter but i cant because
im to young (VA STANDARDS) which is bull crap
