Just want to drop a link to this thread here:
Playseat Alcantara WARNING!

Basically, our intermittent Drivehub problems were caused by static electricity discharge from our Playseat. Worth a read if you have or are considering a seat with alcantara upholstery.

Wow.

I mean, really...wow.

I have alcantara on my N1. However, my Drive Hub is on the floor and honestly I put a blanket down on my alcantara as not to sweat it up or wear it out.

I haven't had any problems.

Thank you, Foxis. That is interesting.

Actually, the blanket may be saving you from issues like the one we had.

There is a thread on another forum (think it was some Asseto Corsa forum) where one guy had fried 2-3 wheels until he figured out it was the static discharge from the alcantara that did it. He "solved" the issue by draping a cotton bedsheet over the chair = problem gone.

Freakin' A!

I believe I have only used either of my wheels on my N1 3-4 times in the last year without the blanket.

It's soft...comfortable...keeps me snug. :P

My Drive Hub arrived on Wednesday but thanks to the incompetence of the USPS I wasn't able to get it until today as they put the key to the locker in the wrong slot.

That aside I updated it and gave it a go on my XB1 using my DFGT. Forza 7 was pretty good and the Drive Hub worked as advertised, I will need to mess with some settings though.

PC2 is what I really bought it for and unfortunately it hasn't gone as smooth. There is resistance, but nothing happens when I hit rumble strips, make contact with other cars, lock the brakes etc. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is the FFB on PC2 just that bad?

Very interesting thread! A few questions though!

1)I just ordered the drive hub from collective minds and I expect to get it before Christmas! I intend to use it on the PS4 with my T300Rs, my THA8 shifter and my fanatec V3 Inverted! But I am a bit lost on the connexion...
From what I understood I should plug the controller and the wheel into the hub! The shifter should remain connected through the wheel (no need here to use the accessory port since the shifter is Thrustmaster compatible)! The fanatec V3 however is to be connected to the hub through the accessory slot! Then I run the all thing in fanalogic mode which will emulate the behavior of a G29 right? So the wheel will basically no longer behave like a Thrustmaster tr300rs? Or maybe there is another way to do it like connecting the wheel directly to the console and use the hub to connect the pedals separately to the console? Please advise as I am a bit lost!

2) I intend in the near future to replace my Thrustmaster gear and go all fanatec! But the number of slots on the hub is limited! Is it possible to have a Cw2.5 with V3 pedals, the fanatec shifter and the handbrakes connected to the PS4 and working through the HUB? If yes how so? My first guess would be to connect all accessory to the CW2.5 and then the base to the hub so I won’t have to use the accessory connection but I am afraid it might varies depending on the mode used on the hub (fanalogic or fanatec)?

3) I am a bit surprised nobody brought up the subject of the new fanatec direct drive wheel that is about to be launched! The podium series! Do they intend to make it compatible with the HUB? Since it will be fanatec, maybe that will work right from the start?

Thank you for your time and contribution

@Podger will probably answer the questions correctly. I am running a non inverted V3 on my TS-PC. I have the wheel base and pedals plugged into DH. I still don't know what mode mine runs in since the only way I can adjust button assignments is from T150's profile. Which seems weird. FFB actually feel just fine, but without running how the wheel runs normally on PS4 I don't know if I am losing details in FFB(GT Sport feels pretty lacking in details compare to most PC sims at least on my setup). I think Podger will like to findout how your wheel works with the TH8A plugged into the base. He asked me to try but I only got a TH8RS.

I thought most of the Fanatec bits can be plug into the wheelbase so it should be able to just run that through the DH just fine?

I think DH can be made to support many things down the line as long as people can help them make sure the device is recognized by DH.

1. you can use the T300 + th8A on the DriveHub in direct drive in port 1 and then connect the v3 pedals as an accessory. Fanatec/fanalogic is for fanatec bases only, which you don't have. Your t300 will still be a t300, but will appear to have a pedal set attached.

2. you can add a usb hub to DriveHub to add new ports. you can connect all that stuff to the base an go from there. the handbrake goes into the pedals.

3. well I'll have a look in my crystal ball later and let you know :P

Well thanks a lot! That’s great! Let’s wait and see then! :)

Doesn't sound right. I find the FFB in PC2 pretty good. I'm using a TM TX Leather playing PC2 on xbox one x. I use the drive hub to use the wheel on PS4 Pro and GT Sport.

I'm actually having a problem with fading FFB playing GT Sport with this combination. After 2-3 hours the FFB becomes very light no matter what settings I use. I downloaded the PC2 demo so I could test it on the PS4 Pro, and when I load that up after I'm experiencing fading FFB in GT Sport, my FFB feels perfect again in the PC2 demo (and if I immediately switch back to the xbox).

Other people have posted about the same thing over on the PC boards as well as the Drive Hub forums themselves so hopefully it can be resolved. At least the game is still playable with a wheel, it just feels weird.

Well I received mine and it doesn’t work... the wheel works (T300) but not the pedal board (fanatec v3i)
I guess I have to update the firmware since the V3 compatibility isn’t ensured right from the start right?

I have a problem with my Drivehub with my PS4 in that it's just unresponsive. I went through the steps after updating the firmware:

Plug in controller
plug in wheel (csl elite)
plug in drivehub

Long story short, after no manual, and then the manual not being specific about things, I get the "C-S-L-E-C-S-L-E-0" now, and that's it. All buttons and dpads are completely unresponsive. I've tried doing the same thing after removing the controller from the list of devices too. Nothing.

What makes this all the more confusing is reading that people have issues with the wheel disconnecting, because of the dualshock4's auto-off? How is this even an issue if the controller is off to begin with? I dunno, I guess that's a problem for people fortunate enough to get the device working to begin with.

Edit: I just started return process with Collective Minds. Might revisit this product in the future, but as it stands, unless it starts working before I get a return slip, I'm just going to file it under "not my problem anymore".

Edit 2: Collective Minds support hasn't had anything productive other than "it should work", and the normal instructions which aren't working. Some responses have at least been amusing, but I don't think I'll be purchasing another of their products after this experience.

Is your DH updated to the latest software ?
Is your DH in race mode?
Controller must be connected to DH and functional (with good cables)

It should be. I even went out and got a wired controller to take any possible guesswork out of it, and confirmed with Collective Minds that it's a controller confirmed to work, and it still won't work. Works fine on my Xbox though, but that's useless to me as my wheel already works on the xbox. Not happy about paying to ship it back, but I'll be happy to get this out of my sight.

Well I must warn people buying the drive hub! The update doesn’t work all the time when you run it through a windows 7 PC! I can’t get my computer to recognize the drive hub when connecting to the USB port! I had a quick chat with the tech guy at collective minds (there are nice and they response right away). He gave me some patch to apply but it didn’t work and then he told me they are facing issues with windows 7 computers... So if you intend to buy the drive hub make sure you have access to a windows 10 pc otherwise you won’t be able to update the drive hub which is a problem for me since the current firmware doesn’t recognize my fanatec v3i pedals as an accessory!

can someone test this: does using drivehub with T500rs enable PS4 dashboard compatibility? So it has working ps and options buttons too?

Or it just doesn't work at all, and you get to pay to send back a defective product.

Can be but the wheel works! Just the accessories slot for doesn’t work! I’ll wait to try out to update it on other computers and then if I fail again I’ll send it back

Ok i did the update and now it works but I must say I am lost! My Thrustmaster t300 does not behave as usually! I don’t know what’s going on but it seams to behave like a different wheel! My PS4 says it behaves like a G29 so basically not like a Thrustmaster which sucks! I don’t know why but now I can not keep the car in line! It is too sensitive! The car is bouncing from the left to the right no matter what game I am playing! What the hell??

Is there anything I can do to change this setup?

T300 is PS4 compatible no? Can't you plug in the T300 as a controller, and use the pedals with the Drivehub?

After I finally got the DH to work thanks to the help of their facebook support guy who basically wouldn't stop with the troubleshooting ideas until we figured out exactly what wasn't working; I noticed I had to use a second controller on GT Sport to be able to change fuel maps. My point is, I was using the DH and a separate DS4 simultaneously during a race, so can you use the T300 and a DH separately (with just the pedals plugged in)?

Can anyone confirm that the drivehub works with the TS-XW?

Decided to be the guinea pig on this one. I can confirm the TS-XW works perfectly with the drivehub and GT Sport. FFB is an improvement over the TX I was using as well (probably goes without saying).

That’s good news indeed.. thanks for taking one for the team..

I think the controller plugged into DH basically doesn't do anything aside from being there. I try recharging it once in a while and it barely needs any charge. Does DH still charges the controller while its plugged in like a normal plugged in controller?

Drive Hub does indeed charge the controller when it's plugged into the controller port, and it does do something else; it's used for authentication so you can then use an unauthorized wheel.
